The wheels I am looking at have a -6 offset. What does that mean related to the backspace. I know I want my wheels to stick out a little.

It depends what the width of the rim is. Backspacing is calculated using width and offset.

    Thanks.

Those are 4.25" backspaced (stock is 5.5") They are also 1" wider than your stock rims. So they will stick out a total of 2.25" further than your stock rims do.

Mine are 18x9"s with 5.4" backspacing. So they stick out 2.1" more than stock.

Ok one more question and then I will leave you alone. 16x8 3 5/8 backspacing and -22 offset. And then 16x8 4 7/16 backspacing and 0 offset. How much will those stick out? I promise thats it.

The first ones will stick out a bit over 3" from stock, which will likely be too much, and could cause the outside of the tires to scrub while turning.

Second ones will stick out 2" more than stock, and are the ideal specs to run 33's on.

OK i got one for you if you dont mind answering it? 16x8 4.25 backspacing and 285's vs 265's with the tires stick out 1" farther than the wheels? for a total of 3.25"s?

285's are an 11.2" wire tire, while 265's are a 10.4" tire. So 265's would stick out approx 1.2" from the wheels on each side (10.4-8)/2

(11.2-8)/2 is 1.6" so 285's will stick out 1.6" on eac side of the wheel.
