Price of TRD Sport

Hey guys I have been following the market for about a year but am still learning. What is a fair OTD price CPO or private party price for a lightly used 1-2 owner TRD sport 2020-2021 with 30k or less miles? Premium package and technology with the leather heated seats. Seems like 38-42k is a pretty common ball park but I wanted some actual tacoma driver's opinions.

Yeah I agree with that, I have airline travel benefits so I can go get from anywhere. My worry is rust with the trucks in the northeast. My overall question would be what would be some great low prices and where to find them?

 

very close to brand new price here in the Denver area.

 

Not entirely sure but I just bought a brand new 2023 Sport 4x4 dual cab with a hard tonneau cover, bed step, all weather mats, and maybe a few other things for 42.5k OTD ( this includes tax, delivery etc). No tech package but does come with easy to use apple car play.

I imagine you can try for a bit lower than 38k for a used 20-21.

I would imagine it's very close. 100k+ mile trucks are listed for $30-35k here regardless of features. I looked for a couple months and settled on a new 2023 offroad last week because used pricing was so close to new

 

are the dealerships up there selling new below MSRP or at it?

 

1k-2k price difference between a new Sport and a 2 year old Sport

 

pretty close to at msrp. They have dealer add-ons (like wheel locks, floor mats and paint protection) that they try to charge more for but you can usually negotiate those away. My offroad msrp was $41.2K and thats what i got it for.

 

The truck has been sold but the dealer I bought my truck from had a 2023 Sport 4x4 access cab on the lot for just under 40k, couldn’t tell you what options it had . I agree that the difference between new and used isn’t much

 

Perform a search on cars.com in order to give you an idea of used vehicle prices. A new 2wd sport with leather/sunroof start at $41k. The pic below gives you a sample price of 2wd Sport’s with leather/sunroof.

 

If it was me I wouldn't let leather seats make the difference. You can put real leather seat covers on that are as good as factory. Katzkins comes to mind.

 

Did you get the 41.2k as the otd price with taxes and fees?

 

Short or long bed? If shortbed automatic or manual?

I was after a “undesired” truck when I was looking and certain regions would discount due to MT buyers being less. Sticker on my truck was $44,595 with Premium, adv. tech, LEDs, and a slew of PIO. Got it for $41,647 no mandatory adds and 2.49% (pipe dream now).

I suggest you search nationally, be prepared to give a deposit on the spot and book a flight. It was worth it to me, 2 day trip to save $4,500 (dealers around me were MSRP + $2,000 in mandatory adds).

 

If price is similar to new MSRP might as well get new and have that peace of mind. I understand Tacomas keep their value but it just doesn’t make sense to buy used not knowing how the car/ engine was truly maintained or driven (if the price is close to new).

I found a good one i think, private party seller with 35k miles on it he bought it CPO and got the platinum warranty. wants 41,500 for it. But im not sure if thats the "best".

 

How much money would you say is similar?

 

I purchased a 2022 Sport 4x4 AT Access cab a year ago, with tech package and LED headlights .,
Price OTD was 42 k here on Maui.
That included a 1200$ destination charge and 4% sales tax
