It's been running around here too. My recollection is that the bottle does not list the distillation location. I refuse to buy whiskey from people who won't tell me where it's from.

The internet implies that they source from MGP, it'll likely be very good if that's the case. But me personally, I still say give me transparency or give me death.

Edit: Their website says the mashbill is 99% Corn: https://shop.hootenyoung.com/products/hooten-young-15-year-barrel-proof-american-whiskey

    So...who knows. If that's MGP, it's a weird mash.

michters American is a bourbon mash put into a used barrel so it can’t be called a bourbon

it was my go to for years, really good stuff, but like all Michters, the price just keeps going up

Freshly cracked. Always so caramelly and smooth. Lucky to have these.

yeah if you wanna mix with Coke as in cola? Jim Beam is right in there.

no use to put an expensive whiskey in a mixer with Coke.

now if you were talking about the "other" coke? ................................... any will do unless you are just trying to show off.

Haven’t been drinking much lately, but a couple weeks ago I killed the buffalo trace bottle I had while on vacation in orange beach. Met a guy from Kentucky while using the community BBQ pits at the condo. So naturally we ended up on the topic of bourbons while shooting the shit. He started ranting and raving about one I hadn’t ever seen on the shelf. It was called Bardstown Bourbon specifically the Blue Label. He went on about it for a while and then drunkenly said he’d bring a bottle to share the next night. The next night comes around and he shows up….with 4 Roses lol I’m not complaining because he poured me a big ol glass. And you know what they say, they best bourbon is FREE bourbon. Turns out that Bardstown Bourbon Blue Label was a bit pricey at the beach. Anyone ever heard of it or drank it?

Yeah it's homage to the first mod I ever did to the truck. It's those little village lights with LED's in them setup to an outlet up there with its own switch pictured. Also the helmet on the left is my first dirt bike helmet and the one on the right is my first street bike helmet. R6 headlights are spare pieces from my old R6.

I gotta say I enjoy bourbon but I REALLLY enjoyed getting to share it more and letting them decide what they like. Makes me want to pick up some new bottles, it's been a minute.

That would be their Fusion series:

    https://www.bardstownbourbon.com/products/fusion-series-9/

Older sourced distillate blended with younger in-house distillate.

It has generally been well reviewed, but it retails here for over $100/bottle, which is a pricepoint I reseve for sure-thing bottles personally.

So I couldn't tell you any personal opinions.

yea i want to say he said it was well over $100 at the beach which is why he showed up with the 4 roses instead. the 4 roses went down just as smooth anyway so no complaints

I had a bottle of the Fusion series No 4 from a few years ago - it was honestly one of my favorite bottles in a long time. Haven't really had anything from Bardstown that I wasn't impressed with, but they are proud of it and price it accordingly for sure.

Is it just me or do some of these smaller places go high corn just because they know it will be sweet very easily?

i think he was a little biased as well because he said he was from soemwhere around the bardstown area. i forget where though. also he was saying he'd buy a bottle and get reimbursed because he knew the owner lol

turns out....that may have been a lie, but i dont hold it against him since it was a drunken conversation anyway

Looks like a damn good trip! No time wasted it looks like! Great score on the WT12. Delicious bottle. That EW SiB is sneaky good and highly underrated as well.
