hey guys! Just checking in. Going through my yearly maybe I'll buy a new truck phase. Just had my 10 year anniversary with the 2013 TRD OR back in January. I dunno why I do this. Currently truck has 118k. I don't use it that much anymore except for winter towing and kayaking. Sort of wanting an AC over the DC now. Drove looking at Berlin City and had to go to St Albans so looked at Handys. WTH happened?? Saw a TRD Pro Sequoia for 90k in NH and a used 4Runner TRD Pro (2) at Handys both 60k!
I did have a cool sales guy at BC look at his allocations. Just not sure to pull trigger.
My issue with 13 is rusty parts. Lol. Maybe new wheels and tires will make me lose the new truck smell.
    Please help.
Sequoia I'm not buying it but the sticker shock is real

Damn those are high numbers! Especially for the 4Runners!

    Wheels and tires…

I am leaning more and more in your direction. Maybe just tires LOL. I definitely use my truck as a truck now not having to worry about tree branch scratches etc. I am so past that.
Having taken real good care of it for the most part. Treated the frame before I drove it off the lot. It has the CRC from Toyota. The prices of both used and new just scare me.
Maybe a nice new set of Falkens or some other brand. Taking ideas for new tires. Thanks guys.

I just put on a set of the Maxxis RAZR AT tires a few weeks ago, and they have been great so far—more information is in the Maxxis RAZR AT thread.

I’m a HUGE fan of the Cooper S/T Maxx. A little heavier than most but they have amazing traction in everything and are tough as hell. They wear great also, never had any cupping issues. I do rotate all 5 every 5k though. I also like the E load rating. I put them up to 65psi when I do long highway trips to help with the mpg’s and drop them back down when I get where I’m going.

    Hey all,

New ish to tacomaworld, had my taco since late 2020. Currently in the process of getting a few modifications going. I'm in southern Vermont and am curious if there are any trails or locations in the state or in NH that are worth it to check out.

    Thanks!

Go to the vtrans website they have archived maps. Look for the ones labeled U.
You will need Avenza or papermaps for the gps tracking on them

Holy smokes we could actually smell campfires from Canada today.
The air is thick and smoky.
    Anyone else?
We aren’t far from the border.

The smoke moved into the Adirondacks pretty quickly late this afternoon. I went over to Lake Champlain around 6:00 tonight, and Vermont wasn’t visible.

I'm about to get my truck lifted, I have a full day over in New Hampshire on Wednesday while they work on it. 17 inch wheels and hopefully a 2 to 2.5 inch lift. It's going to ride like garbage till I can get more weight loaded onto the back end since the rear leafs are meant to have a lot of weight on them. I want to try some Vermont trails but It's going to be such a shitty ride.

What lift are you getting. Also there are a ton of good trails in VT.

OME heavy duty constant load 2-2.5 inch lift. My truck is mostly going to live on roads except for a month or so long trip every year across the US so I'm planning to load it down pretty heavily when I do go. And the occasional off road day trip. I know the trade off will be worse performance for daily driving but it will be ok. Once i get the new rear on in a few months it should ride better with the extra 150-200lbs of steel. The front bumper and winch will help with the front.

Right now I have 65lbs from the bed rack and the rock sliders will add 100lbs to the frame as a whole. I'll probably put a bag or two of cheap 50lb sand in the back temporarily.

I don't know anything about the trails in VT.

I think it's ready for a trail. Just wish I had the rock sliders that are sitting in an Albany freight terminal.

Depends on what part of the state you’re in. Central Vermont getting hit hard. Lots of flooding.
