Took the after market plastic stock off my post ban FEG rifle. Originally it came with blond furniture thumbhole. What are the options for a folding stock? Would I need a tax stamp with a folder?

 

Magpul Zhukov, as long as the barrel is 16" no need for a tax stamp

 

Anyone have a WASR in retarded CA configuration? My LGS has one at the rip-off pricing of 1700.

 

Just get a Zastava ZPAP for around $1300 or Kalashnikov KR103 for around $1000.

 

Does the receiver wood stock mount have to come off? Seen different folders where this is
cut and ground.

 

I don't believe so, the tongue fits into a groove in the stock and there's a screw hole.

I'd like to replace the wood furniture on my WASR-10 with something better looking with a darker grain. Should I sand & stain or source a new furniture set? I've replaced the stock grip with an old BakeLite grip. The rest of the furniture looks like a middle school desktop right now.

 

I polished the bolt and stained the wood to match the rifle in this picture. The RPK style compensator is an addition I’m not sure about. I’d forgotten that I wanted a BakeLite grip until you mentioned it. I like the way my stock turned out. It’s just some Minwax stain from the hardware store under a coat or two of Tru-Oil.

 

You may want to check out WBPs furniture sets, they've got several good options if you want to stick with a more traditional look. I believe Atlantic Firearms & Arms of America both carry them.

I'll probably catch hell from the purists, but this is my WBP Polish parts kit AK I built. Loosely based the build off some of the rigs I saw the Russian Alpha Group guys running in Syria
