Looking for suggestions for u bolt flip kits with bump stops. Not doing the baja 500 so I dont need the best of the best, but looking for the benefits of added ground clearance and more forgiving bump stops. anyone use the wheelers offroad kit or something similar?

I got the wheelers super bumps and u bolt flip kit almost 2 years ago. Still really happy with them. I still can't tell when they make contact, but they do.

I got the Timbren ubolt flip in the rear and Timbren bumps up front. I like them and have had them about a year and a half. Work great.

Archive Garage is the best design for a standard bump stop kit. I just removed my Wheelers kit because I lost uptravel and it had very harsh bottom outs due to the raised pedestals. After switching to the Archive kit I can no longer feel the rear bottoming out and my shocks show I gained back the uptravel I was looking for. Much smoother setup.

Not to bash Wheelers too much, as their Superbumps are fantastic up front. They're just not a good design for the rear.

Another vote for Archive Garage flip kit w/ Option 3 Archive bumps.

Running them with an RXT leaf pack that often times sees more weight than stage 2 should probably handle - no harsh bottom out, no issues, and built extremely well.

I've been doing a lot or reading on this my self. Doing some learning. It seems results of order I've found.

    1. AG option 3
    2. Durobumps
    3. Superbumps
    4. Timberen

All being better options than stock. The main thing I have learned and the details I'm still digging into after talking with Eric at AG is the option 3 needs a collapsed shock length of 15" of less. While AG seems to be the go to-never turn away, they're also the cheapest. I'm currently trying to find more info because the collapsed length of 16" shocks I ordered. After talking with a local shop that specializes in working on Toyotas, they say they dont even worry about changing the bump stops with the long tracel shock i have because the leaf (Dobinsons medium) never flexes out. Makes me raise my eyebrows a little.

I recently installed sumo springs. Doesn’t add clearance but dampens sharp down forces especially if you are carrying weight. I pull an RV.

I'd raise my eyebrows too. I don't have long travel but I do have aftermarket full leafpacks. In their fine print they say they can't guarantee the leafs won't invert without extended bump stops. If I was you,,, I think I'd play it safe.

I don’t have any experience with the other brands, but have been happy with the Durobumps. I like the design; make a longer stop, but the first part is a lower durometer (softer) so it can control before you have a harsh bottom out. Of course the second part of the stop is harder to prevent a metal on metal bottom out.

Been searching for this loud thunk over sharp drops for weeks. Very rare occasion but hits hard when it does.
Recently put 1.5" blocks using stock springs and OME Nitrocharger Sport shocks
*everything is tight 3x(+) over. not the spare. not the bed.

Finding more threads on bottoming out are sounding familiar. I just assumed with the longer shocks all would be good.

Ordered some Sumo Springs, that should be here tomorrow. Hoping those will resolve that hard thud.

Did you have to get longer u bolts with the lead pack you’re running?

They come long enough to fit most, if not all packs. I do replace the u-bolts whenever I remove them though.
