This was somewhat of a sloppy application as I did not remove the garnish to tint it. I used rust oleum lens spray tint with a single coat. Looks like paint more than it does tint.

The right way to do this is to remove the garnish and tint it off the vehicle as the spray can easily attach to the grill or body of the taco and hardens within seconds.

Plan is to remove the garnish in the future when I have time and apply a better layer. In the meantime this looks so much better than the shiny silver garnish which can be spotted a mile away.

drove the car a bit and no sensor warnings.

I tinted mine too just to tone down the fake grill graphic. 35%. Blends better now imo

That looks awesome dude, I like the lighter tint. I’ll probably redo this in the future to a lighter tint.

Thanks. Before the tint (since garnish isn’t oem) it was just too contrasting to rest of the grill but the tint did the trick. Looks even better in person.

Ours Taco Garage garnish is fairly dark, but yours looks even better. Curious... what did you do exactly? TIA!

Just took a piece of window tint - cut to fit- and applied it to the garnish. That’s it. 35% tint

Just saw this. Not really just water - apply and squeegee

not the greatest pic but it worked out well. Got the 35% tint at advance auto for like 15 bucks, used slightly soapy water and squeegee.

This looks the best I’ve seen! Where did you end up getting the grille and garnish?

Grille is OEM. I got a vin# off a wrecked TRD pro on an online auction site. Called my local dealership and ordered over the phone. Dealerships won’t order a trd pro grille for you unless it’s for an actual trd pro. You can however get the solid black “heritage grille” for other trims.
the garnish is just a cheap one off Amazon,
The silver paint on these cheap ones is typically too bright and doesn’t blend in with the grille, hence the 35% tint I put on it. Hope this helps.
