mudflaps w/o liner, how?

    Running HC rear, liners deleted

    is there a way to put mudflaps?
    Just saw one where a guy welded metal tubing to his frame rails, sticking out, and hardware to attach random mudflaps to them, acting kind of like sideways flag poles

    While ago I had standard RokBlokz, but they were screwed into liners per instructions

    You could find some sort of way to mount them to your bumper.

    On my fiberglass fenders I took some husky long John flaps, trimmed them to shape and mounted to my fender supports with stainless cable clamps of correct size for the tubing.

    that looks great

    used the stock bedside bracket, to act as reinforcement. Turned it sideways. (bedside got trimmed for HC)
    ATHFab makes a reinforcement but it only fits their HC which I think is a lower cut

    did not think of your method, may try that
    I'll check if fronts look any different

    I've seen Rock Tamers but probably not a fan
    and I don't think they work on HC hitches

    Thanks for sharing! I'm running glass fenders and this just provided me with a solid solution for flaps.

    I like those little bars and need to figure out what they are. I think many trucks come with them stock in various areas for different purposes.

    here is what I’ve found so far
    To avoid welding on tubing

    there’s at least two stock places a flap can be put on an HC rear
    #1: few inches behind the tire, attach to factory “repurposed” $5 bracket

    drill holes in it, cut flaps, use zip ties or bolts

    close to the tire, flap could catch on it and ride up.

    #2: attach to bumper tubes, either zip ties, clamps, or install a sleeve clamp with 3 holes drilled for mounting with zip ties or bolts
    May look goofy having the flaps there because it’s like 1-2’ rear of the tire

    right now “option 1” sounds better
    Op2 on the tube zip ties at least would keep sliding left/right

    Using a right angle adapter to drill 3 holes in each stock Op1 “bracket” sounds much cheaper and straightforward
    Maybe still using bolts and washers to spread the load more on a mudflap rather than hanging and rubbing zip ties which can over time rip through the flap.
    I’ll measure everything to look for a big enough size generic flap with enough extra material to afford room to trim to shape.

    IF mounting farther back on the bumper tubing is better? I can measure the diameter and get matching P-clamps, and use their holes to mount flaps. 3 bolts/holes per flap maybe

    need to find a good cheap universal rectangle mudflap to cut
    And figure out what kind is best such as plastic vs rubber
    I would think rubber because it can move instead of goofy looking rigid plastic
    Maybe black or 4x4 logo instead of those NAPA ones you see on semis

    Just remembered I have a bunch of extra this^ was on sale. $10, down from $30, Best Buy
    I'll just cut that...
    (used some to glue onto a toolbox top for a work surface)

    right now leaning towards mount on bumper bar with P-clamps
    -farther back, less chance to hit the tire
    -might look cooler
    -simple install on a permanent area of the truck
    -would keep the trimmed flaps universally cut/mountable, being rectangular with 3 holes
