What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Does the new plate just bolt into the same hole configuration and does it cover the same area that the oem 2 piece did ?

 

Installed blackout sequential turn signals today. What a difference!

 

On a scale from 1-10 How hard was it to do and How long did it take you over all?

 

Overall a 2 out of 10. Definitely one of the easiest things to do. The hardest part was taking off the mirror cap thing, but I think I was being too gentle. Took about 5 minutes each side.

 

Ordered personalized Military Veteran plates and some rock lights. I wasn't going to get the rock lights at first, but after I thought about it I figured they might come in handy when out camping or something.

 

Its easy. You dont even have to scale it.

 

The foaming cleaner pulls the dirt out.
Get the Natural Finish. They're shiny for a day or 2 then stay black.

 

Meguiars tire gel. It does have a semi shine for a day or so but goes away quick and keeps the tires black for a long time. Maybe only have to apply twice a year (but I don't drive a lot)

 

Finally got a decent pic with the new Form Lighting headlights installed.

 

Part number May have changed, these are the England version OG, the new ones are made in the US and Mexico from what I’m hearing.

 

Have a product suggestion for exterior plastics? I somehow just noticed this season that 303 runs and streaks after it rains

How was the install? Mine are sitting in the garage. Just waiting on a decent day to do it. I've seen some who have removed the bumper or some just leave it hanging.

 

Yes it replaces the 2 piece skid plates that come on ORs or sports. There are a few bolts that have to be removed from some cross members but it uses bolt locations that are already on the truck.

 

Install wasn't bad. I did mine by myself, and had the styrofoam from the box sitting under the middle of the front bumper... dropped the driver's side first and moved over to the passenger side right after and let it rest on the foam. I was gonna leave it hanging, but it was just easier to remove it entirely to have more room to work. It honestly takes longer to pull the bumper and grill than it does to swap the lights out. I didn't install the extra harness for the DRL's to stay white, because I prefer the amber DRL's (basically the turn signal light fully illuminated). I'd say it took me maybe an hour and a half, and that was taking my time, making sure the driver's side worked prior to removing the passenger's side, etc.

Once you are done though, I'd highly recommend following this vid for aiming the headlights. When I initially turned mine on, the driver's side was about 3 inches too low and passenger side was about 2 inches too high.

 

Installed those raptor lights since I'll never be able to afford a Ford Raptor....

The rotors should last a long time. I have a 4Runner with 240k and all original rotors.
Some shops want to swap the rotors rather than machine them and then your cost goes up. Since I don't do the work myself, my opinion is that I'd rather go to a shop that has higher skills than than just removing parts and charging me more.
