It's basically the valve seat for the wastegate. Some people forget them and then don't build boost.

Sounds like you have yours.

Probably the guage is faulty, but test it anyway. Definitely don't add more boost until this is resolved. Also you won't need a 4 bar unless that's the only fix available.

Having a co-driver/tuner, really does help. A lot.

 

Fixed the leak at the block for the turbo oil feed...





Sombeach. I only had a spare straight fitting and the line is just barely long enough to reach. I had the same 90° elbow on the top of the turbo so I flipped the hose around and stuck the straight fitting going into the turbo but the line is bending pretty good and has created a new leak right where the hose goes into the fitting

A replacement 45° and 90° will be here soon.
I guess that's what I get for starting a "quick and easy fix" at 10pm when I have to go to work the next morning.

The motor was still fairly warm when I was working in there and I wonder if that made it easier for the line to bend.

I also forgot to put the oil filter back on and attempted to prime the oil line and spit oil all over the place

 

Somebody was tired. Lol.

Either you're a man with untrained gorilla strength, or the fitting is to blame. Maybe some of both, depending on frustration level.

Oddly enough, in all of my experience modding with AN fittings, the only ones that I have bent have been the steel ones. Which is really weird now that I think about it.

For the record, I mainly use Holly/Earl's, Eaton/Aeroquip, or other renown brands. One of which is where the steel 90° bend came from. None of which were twisted like that pretzel you have there. Lol

 

For those who have not seen my build thread, I have been working on this. A cut apart redesign of my most current manifold design. That whole "measure twice..." saying....thought I did. Oh well. I like this design more.

Man that was nearly instant! I figured I may get called out for lurking...

 

Measure twice and account for shrinkage.

 

The problem that i encountered, what that the middle runner interefered the shock tower. Oof.

There was no fitting it.

 

I know the pain. Stupid turbo fits the best right where good shock geometry is at.

 

For those two reasons, I took the time to make a mock shock tower. It will be invaluable.

 

You sure you didn't want to go full "german engineering" and reverse the flow direction through the heads for turbos in the vee?

 

I like a challenge, but not an unnecessary one. Lol
