Leer 100R Cap Value

I have a chance to purchase a Leer 100R for my MGM long bed Tacoma. Seller is asking $1500, and it is in almost perfect shape. I have never purchased a cap before, is this a good price? I looked on Leer site and there are no prices to compare to.

 

It’s only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

 

It will probably sell quick, if not already gone, you’re saving over $1k if not nearly $2k.
I paid more than that and drove 8 hours to get it. Luckily the guy was standup, as he had people bidding more to buy it out from under me. But, I do have the much more common short bed.

 

Color matched I assume? It will likely be a tad off from your truck but at that price, I'd pull the trigger. I drove 10 hours to get a black Ranch cap for my MGM long bed.

 

Yes it is color matched and has the correct clamps and keys. Only thing missing is the harness for the third brake light.

 

I paid $1000 for my 100 5 years ago. Color matched, clamps, 2 keys and wiring harness.

 

If this is what you want, I would be trying to find a way to give seller a deposit to hold. You might think I am being hasty, but I spent years looking (too long! should've bought new) and as you can see, there's another guy that had a long drive to get his. The on and off looking I did for years; it wasn't that I couldn't find one priced right,,, it's that I couldn't find the right color and config within 12-14 hour driving distance,,, at all!

 

I have yet to find a color matched 100R in my area for less than $2k. If everything is there and it's in near perfect shape.... go for it.

 

buy it, that's a good deal. I just purchased an ARE for my new truck and it was $3200. Only option I added was the roof rack.

 

Mine wasn't color-matched, but it was in excellent condition, came with the keys, clamps, wiring harness, just no headliner (not a deal breaker for me) and I paid $1700 FWIW. I had planned on painting it black to match so I didn't care about color either way.

edit: I drove about 4 hrs (one way) to pick up my cap.
