Some people would see that as worse. There are some people (we call them "rejects") who prefer cold and snow.

I've posted this before but the climate zones of New England are bananas.

I'm smack on the line of Cfa and Cfb.

90 minutes north and I'm in cold.

And if you look at the US as a whole:

My argument: The difference in going 90 minutes north is bananas. The difference going 14 hours south to NC was negligible when I went for 2 weeks in October. They definitely see a bit milder Jan/Feb by 10ish degrees, but RI and southern CT is a whole different world down here compared to the rest of New England.

Worse is very subjective. For those of us who enjoy winter sports, warmer winters with less snowpack IS worse.

Not so bad in my immediate area. I'm not cut off thanks to back road alternates. The local run is absolutely full to busting though and the Passumpsic along 5 is about 1" from the edge of the blacktop. The next town South of me got pretty jacked up. Lots of people in my area with water in the basement especially in the lower areas, but nothing catastrophic.

I was able to make it to my wheel/tire appointment today and finally get my tires/TPMS switched over to the wheels I painted this spring.

20 years ago, -40 F snaps would be the norm for a few days each winter. It’s dangerous but invigorating when you take it seriously.

Now we’re lucky to get to -10, if that.

I haven't lived here long, just under 4 years, but I'm probably about as far north as you are (I head south to get to Littleton NH from time to time) and I agree. The stories about the cold and snow from life-long locals is part of what brought us here, it's not yet lived up to the stories, but I believe them.

They are for sure. I'm starting in my local village and going to spend some time here helping out before I venture down that way to lend a hand (if it's still needed by the time we're done up here).

Anybody know a place in VT/Northern MA/Western ME that does stainless exhaust? I'm fixing to replace everything aft of the y-pipe and would really like to ditch the clamps for welds.

Do you have a stainless y-pipe? I don't know how well dissimilar metals will stick together. If you want true stainless don't get aluminized, you'll need 409 or 304 stainless. 409 will get light surface rust but will not rot and 304 just discolors
