I recently had to replace my driver side view mirror and it came back from the shop with terrible fit up. There was a gap at the top of the mirror that was so big the weather stripping wouldn’t stay in place.

I took it back to the body shop and they said they’d fix it, but there is still quit a substantial gap. Am I nuts? Would this bother you guys?

it does not look to be sitting correctly. I would be more worried about if it will make noise, let water in, come loose down the road,,,, so F NO! it's a nearly new truck, fix it correctly like you were paid!
    Did they use OE parts?
Was this from an insurance claim? (often insurance co. will back you, they paid good money and want to repaired properly).

thanks for the validation. Yeah this was an insurance claim. I live in a region that gets a lot of snow and ice over the winter and I’m also quite concerned about potential leakage.

Hope you didn't sign off for it. Don't until the shop makes it to your approval. That's a principal of insurance. Just as a comment your avatar shows Vancouver. A "lot of snow" in Vancouver may be a tiny bit compared to Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton.

Well you weren't exaggerating when you said a lot of snow and ice. Enjoy the short summer and good luck with the mirror.
