Hey y’all! Gonna be mounting my RTT once my bed bars arrive this weekend.

I seen people place their RTT’s with the ladder extending out on the driver side & also some that have it out on the passenger side. For those that have a RTT, which side does your ladder extend out to, left or right? And how do you like that placement?

    Thanks!

Driver’s side. No particular reason why.

I just liked the look better with mine mounted how it is. It opens on the drivers side.

I have a Diamondback cover, with the tent mounted at the back so the cover's front door is still accessible. The tent opens to the passenger side. Since this picture, I've added an awning on the driver's side. Also, closed, it sits low, just slightly above the roof line.

Passenger's side, only because of how my 270* awning opens.

Which side would you say you liked better? Or did you not really notice a significant difference?

Currently, I have a rifle case full of recovery gear on the driver's side. So, the tent is slide towards passenger and opens that way. Works well that way so I can get to straps and things easily.

I am going to guess, it depends on what you have stored in the cab (access cab and double cab). Like, most will remove the backseat on the driver's side for a refrigerator or other storage options, such as drawers. Some do a complete removal of the rear seat and have a dog platform. There are a number of configurations. See what works for you. What doors do you access most? Do you camp with a wife or children? Too many unknowns.
