One spline off caused that? Damn I’ve done work to the driveshaft a few times and never matched the splines and actually installed the entire rear section backwards lol

Do the newer 4runner cases work for the swap? Checked online and actually found some for 3-350

as mentioned before yes. The t case should be out of an fj cruiser automatic or a 4runner with a j pattern.

Just read a bunch of pages and saw that lol.

Is it mandatory to use the DPDT switch for the ADD or is there a simplified version using a SPST switch?

Unfortunately I can’t help you with ADD since from the get go I went with a non ADD front diff when completed the conversion to 4x4. There’s a diagram floating around on how to wire the switch.

I understood yes, needs to be DPDT momentary. The motor has limit switches built in but needs the command sent to it via 'pulse' (momentary) in both directions. I wanted to somehow connect to the sensors on the TC case but I was told that wouldn't work by Wyatt from RST (rip). I got him before he scammed everyone.

If I leave my ADD activated it drives funny, pulls like the 4x4 is still engaged. How does yours feel?

Zero issues. My front diff is always engaged and my front shaft is always spinning but zero tolls to my driving experience. I engage 4h while driving the vehicle in straight line at least once a week for a couple seconds as recommended by toyota.

When I swapped cases I left my add activated full time for ease of the swap and I never experienced this. Heck, factory fj’s don’t even have add.

perhaps the 4wd stick wasn’t fully disengaged on the case?

it can be DPDT momentary or maintained, and you can use the sensors on the transfer case to engage if you’d like. Just have to design the circuit accordingly.

Some may think the leather boot is over rated, and no disrespect for a great purple bag as an alternative, but for me too at least, a Redline leather boot was icing on the cake for this mod....

Looks really nice. Do you just call or send Redline an email to place a custom order like this?
