i know this one as well. my fridges ice maker line quick connect just randomly decided to blow out the o-ring a few months ago. i only go downstairs usually during the weekend, for some reason went down on a tuesday, and found a puddle on the floor that wasn't there sunday. never hissed, never made noise, just dribbled and puddled.

Motorin' along in the old wagon, singin' a song (Martin DelRay) -- notice a darkness ahead...

I drove into a wall of monsoon quality rain at about 60 mph.

Remember, the wagon is pushing 60 years old and doesn't have modern amenities such as power windows although they were optional.

The tailgate window was down and it was instantly raining & blowing hard enough that the inside of the windshield is getting wet & me too - and there is nowhere to pull off the road.

So we carried on at about 30 mph, I got good n' wet inside the car then got absolutely soaked cranking the tailgate window up in this unexpected typhoon.

Sat by the side of the road until it let up, naturally all the windows fogged over too.

Driving through town there was standing water on the street and trees were down, got back to the garage (about 5 miles) and it hadn't rained at all.

My kid was driving home this evening to pick up a keyboard he bought and got caught in a downpour. They were doing 30 on the interstate and it started to hail so he jumped off at the next exit and drove through town. He got called into work 30 minutes later because it was starting to dry out already.

Downtown there was tremendous thunder, high winds & nearby lightning strikes, yet nothing at the garage.

1/2 hour later it was clear, cool & calm.

Here at home (15 miles from the garage) it rained but there were no trees down or even tree debris.

    Strange storm...

I think the widespread storms and flooding are gonna be the norm for the foreseeable future…

On the VT news yesterday, there was a clip of a couple of guys shoveling mud from out front some business with snow shovels. The shovels were flopping all over the place…My immediate thought was get the proper tool for the job.

    I’m thankful I don’t have to shovel mud today…

    Good Morning everyone :hattip:

It took awhile but it’s Friday :woot:

The NO type individual frequents the machine shop toilet. My guess is poor eating and or drinking habits rather than fear of a STD; like barely get their drawers down and explode, sometimes we refer this as a CODE BLUE situation.
    Friday woohoo.
My daughter finally found some mudflaps for her SR model and they fit very well. Different than most because no fender flares.
Going to play Bingo tonight at Mother-In-Laws church she attends. It's nice to go with her, I think it be lonely losing your spouse. He passed in 2014.
I got to get to work.
    Have good day crew.

Hey, need a couple of qualified riggers to go help projects set some shoring in excavation hole, about a hour it will take...4 hrs later
This shoring is so heavy duty, way overkill look like for a 100' deep hole, what a pain.
Now back to original task for today.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Something Like this happened (early eighties) coming through the Tunnel on the Turnpike I 76/70 up on top the mountain .

Sunny and clear going in coming out into almost a white out several inches on the road. We always said it might snow any time but mid-July.

My experiences with rest room adventures were many many years ago most likely early eighties though it does not really seem that long ago.

    Factory bathroom comeuppance story:

At the way back job the Maintenance shop was at one corner of the building, we had our own 1 seater bathroom complete with a shower and a door that locked.

Well, this fellow who worked clear across the plant frequented our bathroom, seriously this was a 10 minute walk to an area he had no business in... o_O

What was worse was the fact the he really frequented it, he was in there often and for a long time , I believe the locking door (uncommon in factories) was the attraction.

This rankled one guy quite a bit - his job/office was right next to the BR yet every time he needed to go it seemed this fellow was clogging it up you might say. :annoyed:

The BR was made of metal studs and corrugated steel siding on both sides.

One day the already irate fellow came bustling across his own workspace on his way to the BR just in time to see the fellow step in - again... :rocket: Furious, he stepped out the overhead door and had a whiz in the driveway  -- and plotted his revenge...

Obviously the fellow had time to get comfortable by now -- our hero  took a long handled shovel and gave it his best baseball swing on the steel wall right about where the fellows head was when seated.

If it scared the $#it out of him at least he was in the right place.

The fellow came out looking a bit shaken only a few minutes later - well ahead of his normal schedule.
He looked around at the 1/2 dozen people giving him the stink eye from around the area  and skulked away never to return. I guess he got the hint.

    Good days. ;)

First part of the day went by quickly but now it's dragging out. I've been mashing them for the last hour but figure I better make a walk through of the machine shop before the weekend. Weekend workers have a eye out for anything left out, like say a can of WD-40 that is ready to burst into flames.
Former coworker always used to say, better put than can away so it don't burst into flames while we're at lunch. Flammable Cabinets.

    WD-40...

I had a cabinet full of various sprays however I kept the WD-40 in a locked cabinet.

Workers would come into the shop looking to "fix" something ( :gossip: they had jacked up) and peruse the cabinet, not recognizing any of the products they would leave.

    However...

If a can of WD-40 was in the cabinet they would grab it because "they know" what to do with it - spray it in a balky air tool for example , or a balky electric tool  , or whatever they already smacked with a hammer trying to fix. :help:

Good morning guys :hattip: Been a busy few day for me, went adventuring Wednesday with my buddy to another old fort, saw about 15 minutes of air show practice we weren’t expecting till the rain set in. House chores, vet trip and yard stuff Thursday. Emergency call in for grand baby sitting yesterday. Now to do all my town running around and laundry that I haven’t gotten to. Holy cow, how did I ever get anything done when I was working!

    Pic from Wednesday for you

I keep my Kroil hidden from ''grabby'' hands. That stuff is like gold ever since a few guys found a can and realized it worked WAY better then the stuff work handed out. I have my own can from my personal stash which I guard with my life. Used to get the 2 for 1 deal [the BIG cans] occasionally from the company so I would always get it. Hopefully it'll last me until I croak. If it doesn't, I'll mix me up some Ed's Red to get me by.

Heh, we used to use CRC's "Knock Er' Loose" until they decided to not buy any and start using PB Blaster. I found a can of the CRC stuff and promptly put it in my locked locker
