I use to use that stuff when I was into moto. Never thought about it for MTB.

Bro, it rocks on the mountain bike. My chain looks clean 100% of the time even when riding in mud. The wax also lasts a long time. Once every few months, when I start hearing my chain, I re-apply. I've tried heating up the chain using a heat gun to see if the chain wax works any better but it really made no difference so I just apply it cold. Just make sure you don't overspray into the rotor.

Agree with what others have said here. Before kids, the Wife and I used to go to Moab in 110F summer heat waves and ride first thing in the morning, then we'd go sit in a cold movie theater during the day. It's kinda the best time of year to go cause no one else is on the trails.

    Ahhh... those were the days!

Just heard on the news about the record-breaking temps been hotter than I was used to be in Las Vegas was… The morning rides could potentially still work if you are heat tolerant.. but I am revising my recommendation to be careful if it’s still 110 at 6 AM ha ha

In Phoenix during summer I’d only ride after 10 pm cus I’m not a morning person. That or drive to some elevation

For real. I don't think human are supposed to be living in those places like AZ and Vegas. You know whatever higher power is saying "WTF is wrong with these people?"

    Thanks fellas!!!
I will not be taking the bikes. The window of time to ride is too narrow. I don’t have lights and only water we have are two cages on each bike. We have no camelbacks.
I will just go find some Vegas off road trails with my Tacoma instead .

Eh? It’s all relative. I rode nearly every weekend from the beginning of October until July 4th. I view the summers here how I viewed the winters in CO. I’m not going to ride in extremes on either end of the spectrum. I’m not getting up at 4 AM just to ride my bike. There are other things to do like my lacking bike maintenance and getting in the gym. I’d rather live in AZ than anywhere on the east coast any day. Sorry, not sorry.

Like @cartter469 said. You can be in Flagstaff in a couple of hours, Greer, AZ or Big Bear, CA in 4 and a half or Durango, CO in 5 and a half. If I need my fix, I’ll head to higher ground and hit the bike parks the next couple of months.

Side note- what are y’all using for bike lights? New job starts at 7 so I’m thinking of riding just before Dawn at 5 most days… heard light and motion is good but man who knew how expensive these are

I’m running a Magicshine Ray 2600 and have been very happy with it. Multiple beam and brightness settings, good battery life and durable so far. I very rarely use it on full power, only when bombing a hill in the woods at night. Otherwise, I run it on the lowest or second to lowest setting and it’s just fine.

Outbound Lighting. A number of peeps are running the combo package they offer. I have two sets of these, one for me and my wife. They are excellent!
