Not going to lie I thought about going off the deep end and building a big old shop with a full bathroom and living in it lol. Just embrace the bachelor life and have all my forum friends over. Toyotas as far as the eye can see.

Sweet, thanks! Now that I've learned that they're only 7" wide I am having trouble finding 285s in anything that doesn't require 7.5" width... I'm wondering if I'd be better off going with new rims, maybe 17s to get more tire options.

Have a lot of you guys mounted 285s on the stock 7" wide rims?

    Okaaayy... please tell me more.

I run a 5th matching beadlock and tire on both trucks. Not worth cutting a trip short or having to modify plans when you’re 1600 miles from home like we have been. Been bitten by the non matching spare in Harlan before and it sucks.

    So. Many. Stickers.
You can go 275 no issues. And wheel it hard. No issues.

    Those are 7.5 wide :smack:

4x4 works a LOT better when all the tires are the same size

    This is the way.

Doesn’t seem like the deep end to me…. I’d say that’s 3-5ft of water…it’s perfect swimming depth.

A garage with enclosed home seems perfectly reasonable.

Just got done with trimming some plastic to clear them. Judging from the space I have to the body mount, I think I’m in the clear with everything else.

@rubbersidedown I think the Pro 4runner wheels are also 7in wide, and it’s relatively common to see people put 285s on. I don’t know enough to say that’s advisable, but I havent heard of any failures.

Yes, a ton of 4runners.com members are running around with 285's on the 17×7 TRD BRO wheels. It doesn't seem to be an issue.

I think we're better off if the wheel is a bit narrow VS too wide.

Personally, I'm glad I didn't get the TRD wheels because they became way too common.

This looks like my kind of place! I love river smallies. Being in a place with no other people around is even better!

Edit: now I'm going down a rabbit hole, looking at satellite images of different rivers, looking for places to fish, kayak, and camp.
