I've had the Deaver Expedition Stage III leafs on my truck for a while now, and while taking a look underneath while cleaning I noticed that the pieces between the leafs are working their way out. Is this anything to worry about? One photo is attached, but it's happening on both sides.

I’d ask Deaver. Looks like broken anti friction pads

I reached out to Deaver and sent a photo. We'll see what they say.

Any update on this? I'm having the same issue and would like to replace the pads. One of them is gone and I have metal on metal now that squeaks.

What was coming out of mine is either metal or very hard plastic, definitely not a soft rubber.

Anti-Friction pad. I Have run Deavers for years on past trucks. Very common to loose, Only effect's the potential noise/squeaks. Never paid much attention to more noise over the sound of the front-end squeaks and bypass shocks rattling.

I say Run it, but lube them or take them to Deaver to rebuild of it bothers you - or run a louder exhaust :)

Yeah I hear a very mild squeak here and there but nothing that bothers me which is why I wasn’t aggressively pursuing an answer. All good.

It's a pretty annoying squeak in my case, very noticeable even with the MBRP muffler. Last night I had the car up on the lift and had the leaves splayed out and noticed the pad had slid down toward the center of the leaves. I moved it back and it's quiet again. But it lost the little tab that goes thru the hole in the leaf that keeps it in place, so the next time it flexes it will slide down again. I'll contact Deaver and see if I have any luck getting replacement pads, in the meantime I'll try and think of a way to jury rig the pad into staying put. My truck otherwise doesnt squeak much, just a little bit from the front UCA poly bushings.

That plastic hockey puck is an anti squeak/friction pad. It's a hard plastic and becomes brittle pretty quick.

They sell leaf spring liners that serve the same purpose.

    MACs Auto Parts 48-23719 Poly...

I threw away those crappy pucks from Deavers and relined my leafs with the product above.

Yeah, the pads get brittle after a year or so. I like the idea of the link you sent, I'll need to make sure it matches the width of the leafs, but it seems promising.

That exact link was my Amazon purchase for my deavers so the measurements should be good to go.

I understand my link to Amazon shows product is unavailable but copy the measurments.

Received the spring liner and the instructions say to take apart the leaf pack and line the entire length of each leaf. Did you do that or just put a piece of liner at the end of each leaf? I was thinking the latter when I ordered it. They seem to want to slide down toward the middle so if you put a piece long enough to touch the first leaf pack clamp, it shouldn't slide down (in theory). I'm not really up for taking apart each leaf pack.

I run leaf liners on my Dakar packs. Do it right, full leaf.

I did take apart my leaf pack and lined the length of each leaf. That was the only way to ensure there is no metal to metal contact.

But if you were to cut a section of the liner and pry the leafs apart to slide the liner in as much as you can.....it's still better than the plastic hockey puck.

Doing it this way, the piece of liner will just get pushed out as theres nothing holding it from moving (those pucks have a pin that go through the leaf pack to locate them)

Ii would have thought prying the leafs apart and jamming a liner in would hold it in place with pressure pinching..... but that was just a guess.

The whole reason why the pads/leaf liners are there is because the leafs slide along eachother as they flatten out, this is where metal on metal squeaks come from.
