I have been dealing with some loud squeaking/creaking for the past few months, would come and go but has been worse recently. Thought I had it tracked down to a LCA bushing but took it to a shop and they're saying "Front strut worn causing noise". Currently have the Fox 2.0, was thinking about going to the Billstein 5100 with OME springs. Should I stick with the Fox and order all 4? Where do you guys like to order from? Should I order the whole 5100 set if I go that route pre-assembled or are the parts off the Fox shocks able to be switched with the billstein struts?

If the problem is only with the front coilover(s). I would replace only the front pair. I would get all new hardware, e.g., springs/coils, bushings, bolts etc. Which brand you get is as much fashion as necessity. If you mix brands keep the system balanced.

Side note: A lot of vendors are doing 4th of July sales.

5100s will not perform as well as the Fox units.

Have also looked into rebuilding, have not found anyone who does it locally. Not sure how to get away with having to send them off without getting another pair of shocks anyway.

It could be mud or dirt. Try a good pressure washing and run them until they fail.

Matte Black brings up a good point. I would do as he suggested and also get a can of silicone spray and spray all of the rubber bushings on the front end, controls arms/sway bar bushings a couple of time and then make a decision on replacing struts.

Yes took that apart yesterday and checked them out, they are in good shape. Have tried silicone spray on all the bushing in that area too.
