Smaller local car show here yesterday. Sadly, recent years have reduced this once amazing show down to a speck of its former self..
But I finally popped by Lambo cherry. For a small donation to the event, I got a ride in a nice '22 Huracan..

Back when I did more road cycling, I was run off the road by one of those fat barges. Twice! Different cars at different times. They get fatter at the back, and the rear overhang is astoundingly long, making them perfect for hooking bicyclists. Not. A. Fan.

I've cycled a lot in my youth, and had friends injured and even killed by cars... but it still amazes me how cyclists expect people driving in narrow lanes with huge behemoths at relatively high speeds and in oncoming traffic expect the car to choose a more damaging option... to them... instead of crowding the cyclist and hoping for the best.

Of course there are the assholes that do it intentionally, but is it really realistic to expect the average driver to risk themselves at the expense of a cyclist that knows damn well the road is too narrow to be safe?

Precisely why I only bike on designated trails & never on the road. I'm fortunate to live in an area that has an extensive trail network.

Way too easy to end up as a hood ornament.
