Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
What makes you think you have one?

If one is installed was it a dealer option install.

I have never seen one ever shown in any of The EWD`s of the years I have.

I take it to mean a noise filter to prevent radio wave interference ??

A guess internal to the coil packs or ECM and never shown.

    Wow something new.

I looked circuit by circuit and could not find it

Checked the location page there it was. I guess you have located it.

I ran across it in the schematic as I try to correct ignition noise in AM radio.... but had no idea where it could be . IMG_0650.png

I’m guessing it’s just a capacitor in a box, connecting the power to ground. Could check the capacitance with some multimeters and verify the ground connection is good.

It's a shame more don't. You'd be surprised what you can learn about. Especially regarding this Nation.

It's actually that little plug looking thing taped to the MAF sensor cable. Mines toast, plugged in or out no difference, no continuity. Not just for the radio, the ECU doesn't enjoy electronic noise either.. misinterpreting it for various undesirable conditions. It's actually important.

If it’s a capacitor, as electronic filters tend to be, no continuity would be expected.

So long as the meter can read in the range you’re expecting that should be fine. I tried to find a value for it and the manual didn’t seem to specify one.

But yeah after 24 years, it could be toast. Especially if they used an electrolytic, which dry out.

I have a decent meter, they typically read low resistance at touch and steadily climb when working properly. infinity or over say 50k ohms is no good. .

There is also a noise filter on the alternator.

Many times I still get external generated noise on the Am band in a few areas clears up in a mile or 2

Now I see why I have never seen this filter before only on the I4 ignition .
