I purchased a Tacoma that was rear ended. Nothing major, but went to change the plate light and realized the housing for the bulb was completely disconnected from the wiring. The end of the wiring had been taped up with electrical tape. It can still reach the light.

How much should I anticipate to pay to have this fixed?

That depends on who is doing it?
If they try to sell you the whole harness, it will be expensive.
    $200+

If you buy the connector and terminals it will probably cost about $40.
Plus labor if you pay some one to do it.

This helps for sure. I may need to buy the harness if it’s plug and play. Just can’t find anywhere to buy the harness itself. If I go the connector and terminal route would that require splitting the wires?

You would have to splice the wires.
Solder is better. But you can get by with crimping them and het shrink.

I think those is the parts needed?
Not 100%, but I don’t think they changed the connector from 2nd to 3rd Gen.
I bet @caribe makaira can confirm the numbers.

I think I have my old bumper harness still. I’d have to look for it but I remember separating. But if you have BSM then you’d have to cut and splice.
