What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Lol it'll likely be longer than my boots.
Those red boots rubbed my shock and got toasted. Napas are not holding up anymore. They have made them cheaper than before it seems. So back to the trusty oem axles and boot slide mod.

Granted, I found all but 1 needle.... I think.

 

I was doing the red inner boots from Offroad Solutions WITH the "boot slide mod" never had a boot fail doing that. (The outers were AllPro high angle boots).

Now I run Tundra axles. I haven't messed with those yet.

 

Well I blew out my front and rear drivers side shocks sometime in the last couple weeks, so I guess it's time to take them apart and fix them...hooray.

 

Yeah that's what they were. If i was not running 16" shocks they might have lived longer. I'll run them again if i ever go LT.

 

Dielectric grease on EVERYTHING!!!

 

How did you manage that?




I found my radiator had lost two bolts today. So that was fun. Quick fix with a stop in the ole bolts bin to find two more bolts.

 

My guess is 70mph through a pretty bad hole / rut on that road to your parents house that Mike and I took off the highway. I bottomed out ridiculously hard there but I am still kind of impressed it blew out the back one too. Oh well doesn't cost much but time to rebuild them

 

It was a fun little shortcut tho.

 

So I've got oil and access to a big ol spring compressor but can I borrow the nitro rig some time pretty please

I'd like to help with the rebuild too. Mine are coming due soon I think. So it would be nice to observe your process before I do mine.

Do these look alright? They seem a bit bent wierd. Or, do I just need to put em on and let them settle?

After 12 years on my truck and countless moments of great use, I needed my chase rack off my truck so I can fit into hospital parking structures. In a flash my baby got a haircut.

I gotta admit, I can feel the weight difference while driving and it lifted the truck back up. I am beyond grateful to the homie who built this and the truck.

thanks! I have been low key on the forums. I picked up a daily driver 06 that is supposed to stay stock, but ya know how that goes. Just put Fox shocks front and rear with Icon RXT option 1. Now it needs bigger tires to fill the wells up.
