I won't know till I get the motor out. Its certainly something that I would have a true fabricator do if it needs done, getting it tig welded, and ensuring it doesn't have a leak would be critical.

I did swap the wheels over today and am happy with the look. I want it lower but this is probably about as good as it will get with the 4x4 chassis. Looks good to me, and for once actually feel like washing it and maybe a paint correction is in order...

Also idk who hates the summer heat more, me, or the supercharger...

We put an IA sensor on mine recently. It is located after the rotors, before the intake runner for the front most passenger side cylinder. I've only seen daytime summer conditions with it, but the air temps are very high. Higher than you might think.

Under sustained boost (think climbing up Snoqualmie Pass from the west side) the temps are 170-180°F. Town cruising (little boost) they are 130-140°.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me one bit. When the ambient is pushing triple digits it is down on power on the top end. You can even see it in the boost, it loses 1-2psi when it's that hot out compared to 50* ambient temps. Just part of the game being non-intercooled.

Well the good news is Discount tire is replacing my tire with a new one, so I'll have a full set of 5 to sell. I also kept the one with the torn bead for an engine strange for the 5vz when it comes out of the truck and needs a place to rest.

Pulled off the front bumper and installed a used rear bumper only to notice it's tweaked on the driver's side  need to polish it up or paint it but it works. I am really digging the stock look.

why unbuild what seemed like a legit offroad truck down to de-4wd it instead of selling it as it was to someone who would have enjoyed it and just buying a cheap 2wd manual Taco for your little track toy??? Makes zero sense!

You are right, it was an extremely capable truck in the dirt. I am not sure I understand your question though. Why am I doing what I want to do to my truck? Is that really what you're asking?

Id go down this same path if it was me too. I bought my truck new and know every nut and bolt on it. So why get into something that may have been mistreated or wrecked and you not know.

Why not suggest that OP buy a previous gen Colorado that came with the 5.3 v8 from the factory? Lol

It's already tough to find a decent 1st gen, not to mention the sentimental value. Just like people fixing up their old cars for their kids vs. buying a newer one.

Keep it up Bassman, I love these in depth builds.

just because it's "your truck" doesn't make it any less stupid to drive it off a cliff. On the same note buying a Ferrari and turning it into a rock crawler makes as much sense as what you're doing. It's just dumb

Ferrari rock crawler sounds pretty cool actually....
I would be impressed if you can get into the 13s :D

But considering I'll have just shy of 400hp NA with unlimited aftermarket parts support, it puts the 2GR at a disadvantage.

Is it popular swap for these trucks and if so why?

Like does it mate to stock tranny or work with stock ecu or something.

You'd have to ask @Bandido (he's done it) for that, I've been told it isn't hard to mate up to the trans at all, beyond that I haven't looked into it. I'm sure you have to use a computer from something that had a 2GR though, it's much newer.
