yeah man if you got a big excavator you can get a stump out real quick. They are just such an issue to transport if you dont have a dumptruck or big rig & flat bed. but they make quick work out of something that might take me 30-60 mins with a machine like mine. (6 to 7k range)

once you jump up into that 20,000+lb range? you can really tear some stuff up. :)

and that machine should be right at 38,000lbs!! MAJOR destruction ability there!

I found it much easier to hire out the move to a local garage. Mini ex my future father in law owns and I wanted it at my house. Bunch of BS about trailer needing repair and the other trailer was loaded down with stuff, yada yada. Paid 200 bucks and it was moved in an house. Money well spent after having it for a few weeks now.

That will make it run like crap - if at all.

Years ago I had an elderly Wagoneer (AMC 360 V8 power) suddenly start running very badly, I was about 20 miles from home and slowly limped it home.

Found a broken rocker arm on an intake valve, replaced it and back to normal.
It used a full quart of oil in the 20 mile trip.

HaHa ordered sparkplug from Amazon got the next day, in a plastic not padded plastic bag with no protection for threaded ends in a none plastic amazon bag. Told wife well it's a good thing iI still have my old sparkplug gap tool, reset sparkplug gap and good to go.

I hope they adjust the valves before they change out the rocker arm.

Yeah a bit bigger than I wanted but it was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. I was hoping to get something in the 8-12k range but this'll do! If there was one thing my old man taught me it was that you can never have too many excavators. I think it he had 5 of them when he finally retired. He didn't even have an excavation company!

Been wanting one for several years now. The timing finally worked out where I had the funds and the right deal popped up.

The sun is here to stay for a few more months. I'd kill for a nice downpour!

Replacing the Kohler with a Predator. A few adapters need to be used.

That mower I was gonna snag for $65 was sold by the time I got halfway home from work. My luck.

Other news, I’m also planning a patio off the back of my house. My Massey 35 is down, engine seized. I *think* the governor let go and jammed up the timing gears. Maybe. Just a guess based off how it seized. More on that another time.

I’m not spreading all that peastone by hand, so I gotta get the packings/o rings for the curl cylinder on my mini skid steer and slap that back together. Pic for fun:

    IMG_3710.jpg

My old (now scrapped) Husqvarna zero turn in the background. Had a 20hp Kohler Command, bad wheel motor, engine spit a valve and trashed itself. It has god knows how many hours on it. It mowed exceptionally well. I kinda miss it.

I got one similar to that. That unit should be in any home owners power equipment arsenal. My wife demands ours is fully functional at all times!

The mini skid? I got it for free, was going to give the guy back the $300 he paid for it but he never would accept the money. I still have the cash in an envelope and next time I see him (it’s been three years) I’ll offer again. It didn’t run at all when I got it, had the worst fuel tank on it I’ve ever seen. Loaded with rust.

Rebuilt the carb, found an identical gas tank, cleaned the lines out, charged the battery and it fired right up. I’ve repacked the lift cylinder already. It’s supposedly rated to 680lbs tipping load but I’ve had 1000lbs on it. The hydro motors weren’t happy but it moved it. Lifted it fine too.

I’ve got a bucket and forks for it. It’s slow as hell, but it’s never leaving my possession. I considered it, but it’s just too damn handy.

It’s an 11hp Wisconsin Robin single cylinder engine. I’ll put a Honda motor on it if it ever blows, or a Predator. It has aux hydraulics on it too, I saved the good wheel motor from that old Husqvarna ZT to build a hydro post hole auger for it.

Sounds similar to my deal. Mine was vandalized at the Home Depot rental lot. Wire harness was cut (shredded). They auctioned it off as scrap. Came with trencher, bucket, forks, post hole/tree root ball auger, rototiller and a trailer to haul it all.

I made a home made harness and it's been good for 10 years. The stator is shorted, but I just charge the battery a couple times a season and it's good to go.

Of course mine is the queer Home Depot orange color that I hate.

Nice, didn’t realize yours was a Kanga. The Aussies love those things! Such useful little machines. I also snagged this trencher to use the bar off, but decided to maybe just fix the trencher itself first and see how well it works. I have too many projects and no time.

Yeah, I regret scrapping it, it was exceptionally rough though. It had been abused by many people before I got it, and honestly I couldn’t get anyone to even take it for free. I harvested what was good, sold the deck, sold a hydro and the bum wheel motor to a dude to rebuild, kept one hydro and wheel motor for myself for a project.

The Kohler Command 20 went to my brother, who has a wood chipper with the same motor. I kept the front casters for another potential project.

    More accurate, it's a 1.5 gen ZT.

    YK was the 1st.

Husky bought out Yazoo Keys. Those were some heavy Mofos!

Toro/Exmark bought the rights to the frame construction after Husky sold it. They were still using that frame design deep into 2012.

next door neighbor called at about 3pm. asked if i could come over. he's taking out his pond & had made a spillway to drain it.

he dug it with his backhoe on his tractor but ran out of reach & still had a deep pond. so i went over with my mini ex & saw where he started. uh oh. he has about 30* banks on this pond & had water running down the side. but i gave it a good try to get up it. yup both tracks were spinning & had to use the bucket to pull myself up to the top. dug it down about 2 more feet cause he was sure that was all the depth it had. worked my way back & down the slope. had the 10" wide bucket on & man that made a 10" wide massive water flow. so i trammed around to the top side & started digging out the bank side that couldnt be reached from the spillway. man it ran for 2hrs!!!

and we still couldnt see the bottom when it finally stopped. my friends came over to relocate fish. they took several hundred that were up to 3" long. bluegills & bass. there are some good size fish in there, but the water just wasnt down low enough yet. my friends gonna come back tomorrow to get more fish & im gonna try to find a path to dig it out some more.

fun fun fun. playin on the mini ex, diggin & gomming around. :) THIS is one of those times where a bigger excavator is handy, but we can make it work. living the dream.

Irrigation pump sprung a leak at the 3/4" nipple for water hose along with the hose yesterday. After Malli finishes her breakfast off to lowes to get a brass nipple no more vinyl nipples there. Lowes is 30 mins away in any direction:rofl::rofl:. Projects today HOIST OL GLORY, fix pump for garden! Repair Weber grill by replacing burners and flavor bars along with a good scraping. Jump on JD lawn tractor and mow lawn at house. Run to dump. Last thing sit on porch with my best friend the Malli dog and have a cold beer.:oldglory::101010:

question guys- i bought my dr chipper with the 8ish horse 12ftlb tq briggs&stratton motor. jackass me saved 250$ not getting electric start. (big regret) they wont sell the parts for it. may need a silent buyer to try again. any way i could (rig) an electric start? love the machine but pull starts are 15x harder than a 5hp lawnmower. i bet a pull start on a tacoma wouldnt be much different.
