5100/eibachs lift question

So i am looking at installing the bilstein 5100 set at 0 and 1.6 eibach coils set up this next week on my 07 access cab and was wondering if i would need new UCAs with the bilsteins set at 0 instead of the .85 setting? any help would be great. Thanks.

 

I will soon be installing a similar set up 5100s and eibachs and drivers side spacer and Light Racing UCAs on a 2010 DC LB. Most everything I have heard is that a lift of 2.5 or greater will require the UCAs to bring the alignment into specs. For me, I'm likely going .85 to 1.75 and installing the UCAs as a precaution. I certainly am not an authority on this subject, just conveying what I have read. Hope it goes effortlessly and lets see pictures before and after.

 

Here's a picture of mine, Eibach's and 5100's at "0". No issue with getting it alligned at all, rides much smoother than stock on all kinds of surfaces. Highly recommended, also, I haven't heard of any problems with allignment setting the Billie's at .85.

 

I have those springs and shocks and set mine at 0. I have an AC as well. Stock uca here and the shop didn't mention any problems aligning it. It tracks fine with noticeably less body roll in corners. I'm pleased, cause i wasn't looking for mega lift - just a better drive and a touch more attitude up front. You'll be happy....

You're correct, once you hit the 2.5" of lift you are in the area where you might need new UCA's (some get lucky and can still within spec, others not so much). At 3" it seems like you definitely need new UCA's.

If you're getting Eibachs, don't put the 5100's past the .85 setting. The shocks aren't set up for that and you could end up causing some damage. There's too much down travel for the shock with that much pre-load on the coil.

 

That is what i thought. i want a lift on my truck for looks but i also want to keep the integrity of the truck. so thats why i am just going with this set up. i think it will be perfect for what i use my truck for.
