I don't know if it will help or hurt. Let me mull it over.

Make a new column with higher value? Say 6500, heck 6100. Just so you are not clipping the cell. Or lower rev limit to 5900 and try that.

Wouldn't that not matter? Bouncing off the limiter has the potential to go 1 rpm over 6000 into a new voltage threshold.

Also bouncing the limiter could have a bit of timing belt slap, throwing things out of sync.

    Just ideas.

Hmm bouncing the limiter could change the reference but usually that just causes the home % of travel to change. It only throws the trigger error if it misses reading the tooth entirely in a cycle.

I need to start a thread for this but not sure if it should be in Technical Chat, BST, Build threads, or external... it's not really super specific to First Gens or even Tacomas in general, though the relevant sensors would be...

I'm pretty sure anywhere you post it in this forum it isn't going to reach quite the right audience, at least in here it's relevant to who might use it.

Ya probably. There's a few markets I could hit here actually once the display modules are done too. 3D printer still hasn't shipped  but I suppose I could start learning how to 3D CAD model for it. Too friggin hot to do anything else on the truck rn anyway

I've got some experience with Solidworks but I'll let you know if I'm having trouble with something, thanks!

Looks great and very easy to read. Going to have 8 displays total? Lot's of potential.

Yep I think the most practical config would look like a staircase over by the coolant temp gauge

And I can always add an alternate font as well

My biggest concern is the limits of SPI itself - it's not a balanced protocol so I'm going to have to get clever to avoid persistent display corruption

I little off topic but slightly related.
I've been wanting to see if anyone else had issues with the timing belt constant tensioner rubbing the ring it goes through on the oil pump housing.
    IMG_20230718_193308.jpg
When removed the old one I noticed it felt funny. I don't think the tentioner was doing it's job and thought that could cause timing belt issue if other 3.4's had the same fitment.
