Random thing here. Somehow the mounting hardware for my winch has loosened and I've lost two of the nuts that go into the feet of the winch. They are these square shaped nuts. I figured they are basically the same for most winches. The smittybilt hardware number is 97515-43 bit it's no longer available on the smittybilt site so I don't trust ordering it from another place that says they have it. Do you guys have any advice on what I should do?

 

Order it from another place that has it…

 

The only couple of places that say they have it are random sites that I don't really trust. I guess I'll call places on Monday and see if they are legit

 

What model winch? The cutsheets in their manuals aren't great, but it might give you the details you need to source a replacement.

 

It's smittybilt. The owners Manuel is actually really good. That's where I got the part number. I'm going to take the winch with me to Ace hardware tomorrow and see if I can find something that fits.

Anytime I need bolts I go to ACE, only place that has great selection of metric

 

Email smittybilt and explain that the 2 nuts worked loose and have disappeared. See if they will send you some.

 

I didn't find anything at hardware stores. I called offroad warehouse. They said it looks like it can be ordered but no idea how long it would take to get and I should call 4wp before they ordered if for me. So they seemed a little unconfident about it. I did send smittybilt a message today. Hopefully they'll respond. If not I'll try fastenal.

 

Coker Equipment in Gainesville supposedly has all kinds of hard-to-find hardware, at least that’s what the linemen in my old crew have told me. I’ve never been there myself.
