Kurt , I got you on the weather, last winter was one of the strangest we had with very few breaks in the cold . It went straight from winter to summer heat . Stay hydrated.

Good Morning Cool Old Dude Mentors & of course Susan
We're having a chilly wet Summer and it's effecting crops and our yearly dipnetting on Copper River is on hold 'til water temps and levels come into an acceptable zone. I understand the Salmon return is strong, but conditions haven't been favorable for where we dipnet. Wait and see ... :notsure:

We wish you could package some of that rain and send it our way. Here is a map of our drought:https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?fips_2905 -BTW we live in the darkest (worst) red area D4 (exceptional drought) It is all I can do to keep my flowers alive on my deck for the Hummingbirds -Photographing them is a hobby of mine . Shots like this (and a cold beer or two) help me keep my sanity!2Y3A2184 (2).jpg

I also keep busy with our Bluebirds -- We have one nesting house and as I speak -that single house houses the FOURTH brood of baby bluebirds. We usually have 3- 4 houses , but with us losing a 125 year old red oak, I had to take the others down to aviod being destroyed by the tree removal process. The ground has been too darned hard to get the posts in the ground to replace the other houses.

Nice pic. of the hummingbird Mark, they sure are neat little critters!

Trimmed around the pond this morning, not overly hot but the grass was wet and it was humid, I definitely need a shower!

Here is my little project. Spent more time than I thought I would sanding, planing, staining and finishing.turned out pertty good IMO. Used ceder, the old bench had multi color paint drips and rotted wood.

I have a couple of friends that live in Phoenix. Both tell me that if the temp is 105 or above they do not leave the house.

Nice work. I have refinished the bench in my yard twice now. Used mahogany because it was free. ;)

@MQQSE Nice pics thank you for sharing.

Good morning. It was hot and humid at the outdoor concert yesterday afternoon. I was glad to get back in the car for the ride home. We have another outdoor concert today at 3pm. This marina does serve food and other beverages. Sunday brunch there is actually decent. I hit a new PB on the recumbent bike yesterday, 7.80 miles in 30 minutes. I am going to try and take it a little easier today.

    Morning all:

Good job on the bench.:thumbsup:

Been getting a lot of sporadic downpours in the last couple of days, fortunately nowhere near what some other areas are experiencing.
