There’s a couple good spots to eat downtown. Otherwise I avoid it except my customers that are close to it.

I'm kind of depressed about the recent comments about Ashville.

My wife and I do like day trips, and we want to see the Builtmoore. We don't necessarily need to do the inside tour, but would be very happy with a drive thru of the estate.

I know we won't be able to experience the interior, but that is fine. We just like to check out different places.

It's about 2 hrs or so to Ashville from Ft. Mill. We just like to check out historical places.

Am I short changing myself not doing a tour of the Biltmore?

Sorry to derail the thread and sorry to admit I'm from Michigan...not really.

If you haven’t been, go. You may love everything you see. I haven’t been to biltmore in 30 years or more.
I prefer the mountains outside of Asheville away from the people.

If you want to see it, go see it, don't let a bunch of strangers on the internet persuade you. Asheville isn't any worse than any of the half dozen or so rotting, zombie apocalypse level, cities in Michigan! :D

Yeah… I’m not a big fan of Asheville these days. I prefer to head farther west to Haywood County. Waynesville is a good place to visit. It has a few decent breweries worth visiting. Boojum is at the top of that list.

Brevard is nice. Can get crowded especially around the natl forest entrance.

Let me clarify a little on my new residency in NC LOL. Ill be starting a new career with a excellent company in NC. Ill be about 30 mins from downtown Asheville. I love the outdoors ,and enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing. I am from FL originally I decided to work and live instead of living to work. Florida doesn't offer me any of things I enjoy doing. I'm no yuppie and I wont be attending the drum circle in downtown. If anybody is close to the area who enjoys shooting fishing 4wd hit me up. The Biltmore is worth seeing at least once:thumbsup:

I don't know of any garages that people rent out, but Asheville Vehicle Outfitters is your best bet for a "shop" if you're willing to pay someone to wrench on your stuff.
