I finally saw one of these in person. I want one! But, not for $25K over MSRP! o_O

Edit: also, I'd definitely prefer silver, or pretty much anything but black.

    They're cool.

    But

The GR86 is putting up better numbers.

Can't seem to justify the pricing on these, mostly because dealers are greedy and Nissan is struggling to produce numbers to match demand

Umm.. how is 228HP, 184TQ better than 400HP, 350TQ? I know the GR is lighter, but not enough to compensate for that big of a difference.

I definitely wouldn't pay the current markups (or any dealer markup, ever, on literally any vehicle, ever for that matter). But, I'd be all over one at MSRP if I were in a position to buy one.

The 86 is also very appealing, though. I might have to check one out sometime. If the 6th gen 4Runner doesn't really blow my skirt up, I'll probably keep the '19 and pick up something fun for cruising around town in a few years.

    Better track numbers, mate.

HP and TQ at the crank are only the start of the numbers game lol

That being said, I would love to drive both of them against each other on some seriously technical tarmac with the six-speed manual and whichever one has the better feel or the X Factor... That's the one I would keep.

Heading home from work I go south on I 39. My 25 minute drive quickly turned into two hours. Apparently there was a semi hauling hay that caught on fire. But they had every one get off the highway and was rerouted. I dont know if you guys recall what I said a couple days ago but everyone ended up taking the roads by my house. There was hundreds of cars going down this washboarded dirt road at 20mph. Lovely. To bad my shift that I had earlier than usually ended up getting home at the same time.

Sometimes it’s nice being totally out of the loop. Had no idea what the new Z looked like. Not dissapointed!

At what track? From what I can find, the Z is beating the 86 on any track I can find times for both of them. Also, if you're referring to the quarter mile, the Z beats the 86 by 2 seconds , which is significantly more than the 86 beats a 4Runner by, lol!

Also, about 1% of the people who buy these will actually ever take them to a track. Straight line acceleration is the biggest difference most people will notice. Either one of them is going to take a curve faster than most people are willing to throw it into one.

Of course, I know horsepower and torque are only part of the equation. That's the reason my buddy's CRX with like 225 horsepower can hang with a 400 horsepower muscle car.

But, from what I can tell, the Z is clearly beating the 86 in any numbers game imaginable.

Had a great relaxing weekend. As I age I find it a lot easier to say F it, tomorrow's another day to get that shit done. Put off several projects to enjoy the weather and actually got in our pool for the first time this summer. That was after I installed a new Bluetooth amp and outdoor speakers, which made it even more enjoyable to float around with a cold beer.

Here's a pic of two of my favorite dudes hanging by the pool...
    PXL_20230715_201337824.jpg

Also I gassed up the truck and went through the Kwik Trip car wash. There, it's a post about my truck now too.

Hi. Hope you guys are all enjoying summer. I’m heading up to Crivitz Aug 3-6. Camping at Twin Bridge. Asking if you guys know if Pipeline is still accessible. I’ve heard conflicting stories.

55552 is closed. It's on the USDA website. No need to trust internet opinions.

You can still do all of the side trails, but obviously they're not quite as exciting. If you're not looking to do anything, particularly challenging, though, it can make for a good weekend.

The more I look at the map. That section has been closed for some time. I was looking at the section coming off of Caldron Falls road that leads south up to the bridge and the loop with the water hole at the end.

It was open last summer. It closes every March 14 and reopens June 1. The long term closure came this spring.

If you look at the updated map, 55552 is not even on the map anymore.

Thanks again. I’m heading up with another family. Just wanted to take my friend out with his son and mine to go on a morning drive. Wasn’t sure if they closed everything or just that section on the map.

The kids might get a kick out of driving up Instagram Hill. :D. The road that is on is still open.

You guys could buzz around on the gravel roads and take the scenic route up to TK country market in crooked Lake for some ice cream. :)
