it'll depend on the wheel. If you clean the flat face of bead really well it will probably still hold air. My biggest concern would be the tire deciding to debead itself due to that spot

Yeah tire shop did that number when swapping wheels yesterday. I think they owe me a tire. I was going to sell them but that just made that tire nearly worthless to anyone I was gonna sell to. Tires are $325 new and I was hoping to get at least $170ea

 

Stop going to that tire shop, they don't take care of their equipment if their duck bill was able to do that.

 

Did Les Schwab report that when they did it?

 

At best, they are going to pro-rate that tire, not replace with new. Unfortunately, that doesn't give you a set of 4 to sell.

I think I would take that over trying to sell a set of 3.

 

I'd give a shot at trying to mount that tire. I did it with one of my LC ones that was shredded the same way and it worked fint for the two years I had it on.

Set of 5. I used all 5 during rotations so they were all similar wear.

Which isn't terrible having a brand new spare in the set. Not ideal though.
