Has anybody experienced their fuel gauge sticking after a fill up? I filled up the tank to full and started up. About a few miles from the station I noticed the guage stuck between 3/4 and full. 20 mins later it was in the normal position of full.

I’ve had problems in other vehicles. Gauge maxed out at 1/2, below 1/2 worked perfectly fine. Gauge didn’t work at all. Choices are fix it which involves dropping the tank. Or use the trip meter, after x amount of miles, fill it up and reset the trip meter to 0.

The potentiometer in the tank might have a spot it get stuck on. You could try giving the truck a shake after filling up to see if it helps.

I have seen similar behavior in an older car. Happened once, never again.

Wouldn’t worry if it’s a one time fluke.

I have a 2023 Tacoma. Just filled the tank. For the first time in this truck, evidently the pump auto-shutoff occurred prematurely. I expected, with certainty, that the tank would take over 15 gallons, but the receipt shows they only pumped just over 9. I drove off just not concerned about it. I noticed that the distance-to-empty had not reset; but I somewhat expected that since there is something in the manual about needing to pump over a certain amount of gas into the tank to make the reset happen. But then I also noticed that the analog guage also failed to reset - it still shows under a quarter tank. I half-way expect everything to resolve when I next fill the tank. Otherwise it is back to the dealer for a fix.

That's what I'll do. Just watch on the next refill and see if it was just a fluke. Otherwise I'll get by and wait it out.

I’ve had the fuel sender float get stuck like that once in a blue moon on about every Toyota I’ve had. Usually also at 3/4 then you drive for a bit and it’s set free and slowly goes back to F. And also had shitty gas station pumps cut off well before I was at full. It happens.

This happened to me yesterday. I normally take the tank down to the light before refilling but yesterday I was filling cans so I topped off the truck and it was stuck at 3/4 for a while even after multiple restarts. First time it did this in 191K miles.
