I expected them to be worn in but did not expect them to have such a nice arch and so little lift. I had to check the website to make sure they were actually expos....I mean I've abused my dakars and they stand way higher. These expos sit where the dakars do with 200 lbs in the back

All pros are a progressive spring with no overload. I ditched both of mine because they sagged with weight.

I’d recommend loading your truck up with gear you wheel with and go get it weighed.

My experience with all pro leaf springs was they were awesome until they weren’t…

Brand new springs worked right out of the box with hardly any break in needed but they died almost immediately although in my application it was ok.

They were on my old ‘85 pickup rock crawler and were great for that application but probably wouldn’t buy them for my 2017 daily.

This was all pre trail gear though so no idea if they’re the same anymore.

Well my buddy was going to buy my springs so I'm at a loss on what to do. He just has a camper and inverted stock springs and doesn't really want too much lift so idk if I should give him these now or the dakars.....

If I keep these should I just run a longer shackle until I have the money for something new

Maybe a small block? The springs were great other than losing their arc quickly. Is it an 8 leaf spring or maybe 9 with overload?

Maybe an add a leaf? Again never had issues but them fatiguing immediately. After almost a decade of hard wheeling never chucked or broke. Did break a main leaf on the front springs though.

Dakars already have aal idk if you can double up aal, I was debating going to a junkyard and making a Franken pack with some middle leafs, just didn't know about center pin length. But it was a good deal for this pack and it checked the weight capacity box, I was gonna sell mine to my buddy so I was basically just paying for new bushings.

    The expos are 6+1

I've had great luck with chopping up junk year
Yeah, that's what I did. I call them Old Man Chevy's.

I used an online spring calculator to get a decent combination.
It's been about 10,000 miles and so far so good. My rear shocks are garbage so I can't really tell how good the springs work but they don't sag and flex is roughly the same.

For the center pin I used a bolt and rounded off the head.

@TOP TACO had Sacramento Spring Inc. do some work on his Tundy and I think he's still happy with their work. I know it wasn't "cheap" but those dudes know their stuff and can do custom work and tailor to what you are doing. I am going to have them re-arch my Dodge springs and make a custom pack for my Willy's CJ3a. Just a thought

I will second Sacramento Spring. He rebuilt several of my springs to my specs and his never failed.

I added a second AAL to my dakars and added plastic leaf spring strips. The retainer bolts no longer worked so I used standard leaf spring retainers to keep them together so they don't shift around and they have been fine. I don't have anything to compare them to ride quality wise but for the cost it's been good deal.

They are reinforced plastic but so are the pro eagle wheels so I just went with harbor freight.

I'll second this. They are pretty tuff. And can hang side by side with a friend's pro eagle. Can't beat the bang for your buck.
