Trying to identify some rear shocks that I got for free. I was told they're Icons and meant for 3 inches of lift on a 2nd gen tacoma. They have no markings except for 2 numbers on the bottom of the reservoirs: DR155257 and 8207. I googled these and nothing relevant came up.
    Ext Length: 23.5
    Comp length: 14

These specs are very similar to the Fox 2.0's for 1.5-3 in lift, but the hoses and connections between the shock and the reservoir look a bit different than Fox 2.0's. Any ideas on how to ID these?

those are old school donahoe racing shocks from mid 2000s. company went under and employees bought it out and renamed icon. these old shocks are different than icons of the past 10 years though

Wow, I would've never found that. thank you! think these are worth sending to Icon for a rebuild? they're pretty shot and a bushing is missing. curious if I'd just be better off just getting a new set of icons/fox rather than screwing with these.

    Stuff and junk and things...
Correct old DR shocks. They were made by Edelbrock with proprietary seals for DR back then. The IP and patent for those was bought by eibach a few years ago and is what is in the pro truck shocks they sell now.

SO there are is zero support for the hard parts that goes into those shocks, IE if the shafts have any nicks or pits they are worthless to throw money at to rebuild.

Shockseals.com sells the eibach rebuild kits but IMO not worth it over buying some 5100's and moving on.

Interesting.. I contacted Icon and they told me that they could service/rebuild the DR's, but based off your info I'd have no luck there if any hard parts are damaged in any way. Might end up being more of a headache than I wanted!
