Nope as soon as it was parked and in my possession. All chrome "except hub caps were removed" the hub caps and grill were painted to match the truck . Yet, with in 6 months, paint started flying of the truck. Grille, hub caps, under the hood along the doors front and back. Toyota can kiss my skinny white ass at this point.

I also dislike chrome, but then everything shiny looks tacky to me.
Another issue I see with chrome is that it can be a safety concern. It already happened quite often to me that while driving behind a Buick the sun gets reflected from the chrome right into my eyes.

I was on the fence about it. Considered doing black overlays but the kids said leave it alone for a year and see how you feel.

Damn kids are always right - I'm ok with it now.

Like a little bit of chrome, yours has just the right amount of it.

Mine didn’t come with any badging except for “4X4” on the tailgate which is black. Bought all the rest of the badges in black with plans of putting colored vinyl lettering on it for little pop of color but never got around to it. Think I am just gonna leave it off now.

This is causing a uproar in the Lowrider community, the only alternative is a very dark chrome.

Have you never been on YouTube? Ha! No, you are not alone. Endless dechroming Taco videos....
I was semi stunned to see that the '24 TRD Off Road has virtually no exterior chrome (as least those very recent pics in that office parking lot), Black handles, badging and by Gawd, they did not slip chrome into the headlights and taillights.:thumbsup: Toyota is finally getting it. The amount of chrome on my wife's 2020 Outback Touring XT is ridiculous. We both hate it. I took hyperdip to her side mirrors, grill, window trim, front bumper - frankly a pain in the a** but so much better looking. So needlessly cheesy. But she would not go "Wilderness", she is way particular about having "loaded" interior. Very.

I bought a 2020 SRSX 4 banger used. It was chrome-free to my delight. When I opted to ditch those stupid locking lug nuts for some plain old lugs, my only option at the local parts store was chrome. Gackkk!!
Now my SRSX has one chrome lug per wheel….. oh the humanity…..

Despite having removed all the chrome from my Taco, I don't mind chrome depending on the vehicle and if it's a balanced look. I hated it on the my Offroad when I got it. The only real chrome was the grill surround, rear bumper and badges; it looked awkward paired with alloy wheels. If it had chrome trim around the windows and/or chrome door handles as well as chrome wheels to complete the look, it would have at least looked better/more balanced. I have seen plenty of Tacos that complete the chrome look so to speak that look great. There are plenty of models that get it right. Wife's F-150 KR for example looks great with all its chrome. When a vehicle only has one or two big chrome components and nothing else though, they just look weird.

I guess I'm in the "I like chrome" group. Not all out chrome everything but tastefully done it's nice. I also found that when you have a chromed metal front bumper it tends to rust less than a painted one. Chromed metal seems chip less than paint. Murdered out is a bit too much black, to me it loses detail. But if that's what you like go for it!
