Just make sure to inspect it often. I'm sure the more you use it, the faster that little pad will be gone.

Looks killer. I will be going down the same path shortly. How have you found the width for driving tighter trails? Anything you would change if you redid it again?

Thanks man. The width is definitely little more of a challenge on tighter trails but i don't tend to drive on those to begin with. One aspect that i don't necessarily like is that the axle is actually wider than the front. It was a combination of different wheel specs and wheel spacers up front that I was able to match the rear. The width front and back is identical now but i would have preferred the front to be an inch wider on each side. Overall, it's the easiest route to go and if you are looking for an axle to fit your exact requirements, i would recommend going a different route. It's been a fun project and when i redesign the front in the future, I'll be making it wider.

That's good info to know. Do you know the before and after WMS on the front once you got the track width sorted? What rims did you end up going with?

I had wondered about shortening the axle housing down but then the snowball effect of what else needs done continues.

I looked though my previous posts and it looks like WMS is 71.5". My wheels are KMC 718 summits. The backspacing is 5.5" which sucks the wheels in for the rear and i was able to push the front back out with wheel spacers which matched the spec of my SCS wheels.

I was unable to find a company that would make me custom axle shafts for a tundra. If you do find one, let me know.;)

Another note that i discuss in my previous posts is that the e-brake isn't an easy hook up either. I had to go a different route.

I know it doesn't serve too much more of a purpose besides mounting lights but it was good practice for when i decide to cage the truck one day. Happy how it turned out and breadth of experience keeps on growin'. And disregard the ugly fence; it's a rental haha.

Toying with the idea of a custom LT setup. Since I have the tundra axle, I could swap back over to the tundra bolt pattern and run tundra wheel bearings up front. I would have to swap out the brake booster, but I could run the tundra brakes as well. CV axles would be have to be custom but should be doable. If I so choose, ABS is possible. Open to any input. Obviously below is just a rough layout based on certain dynamic parameters I wanted.

Would that be more or less expensive than just going with a kit?

The custom axle shafts will likely be the most expensive part. Disregarding the CVs, it will be less but not by much considering the trial and error that will occur. Also, I'll need tundra brake components. There are aspects of kits that I like, but there isn't one kit that satisfies all of those, so I figured why not. Its something I've always wanted to do when I was in school.

...and I would be selling my current kit.

Hey thanks. Yeah I ended up swapping the factory fenders back on and cutting them. I've never been super happy with the fit of the glass, so just decided to switch back. I'm kind of digging the change right now.

I cut quite a bit haha. Maybe around 4" around. It still looks wide from straight on, but yeah from the side not so much. I still have the rear glass.

I've been debating on running the bypass forward of the coilover. One aspect of my current cmbrg setup that really bugs me is the tie rod rubbing on the coil. I might be able to gain some clearance by running the shocks this way.
