Mom let me go through a couple of my grandpa's old tool boxes that my cousin's didn't keep, found a bunch of somewhat older Craftsman stuff I'll take. A little slide rule which is pretty cool. And an old grocery bag full of rotting (literally) pennies. I got excited at first thinking they might be rare ones but nope, just old decaying pennies.

 

Were you at the tail end of the generation that knows how to use a slide rule or was that before you too.

 

I remember being taught about it in math class in maybe middle school but it was more out of antiquity than necessity of course.

 

It wasn't even acknowledged in my education... solve on paper or if you're higher level use a calc.

A few weeks ago, I stayed in LA and zillow the address. Property worth $1.4 million and it was definitely a POS. I wouldn't even consider living there because of the shitty neighborhood.
