    Good morning guys!

Sorry for not checking in yesterday, I had planned on a nice easy day but it did not go as planned and I was on the go all day.

Anyway, the adventure to Ft. Barrancas was good, it started raining about 30 minutes after we got there and rained all day. We did luck out and saw about 15 minutes of Blue Angel practice we weren’t expecting before the rain started. Not many pics due to the rain and the fort being pretty dark inside.

I’m babysitting the girls today! May post later, may be busy and up to my eyeballs in :crapstorm: lol

Good morning guys. Babysitting gig went well, both girls napped and took shifts on wanting a bottle. Only had one spit up that required a change of clothes. Wife stopped by after work to do a few hours late afternoon so Daddy could sleep a few more hours. I came home and took care of the dog, made supper and stuff. Got to take care of the pool and do a town run today.

Tomorrow is Wednesday so it’s another adventure day with Mike. We are going canoeing on one of our local creeks. Will be an early start so probably won’t be on here in the morning.

Good evening guys. Was a good trip down the creek, didn’t tip the canoe over, came back with all our gear, didn’t get sunburned.

Old guys are too smart to do sketchy stuff while they are out on the creek…

This has been out there a while. Not sure why it was built, the main road and rail line that ran out this way is south of here. I’ve got some research to do lol

Good morning guys, have a good one.

Heading over to help with the girls in a little bit.

What I know already from my years with the Sheriff's Office, it’s called “steel bridge” by the locals (well duh) but it’s actually the old Fleming Bridge. Fleming Bridge Road runs inline with the bridge when you look at a map or satellite image, the road currently dead ends about a mile north of the old bridge.

Its early 1900's construction, riveted steel and concrete piers. Single lane, not heavy enough beams for a train so early vehicle traffic use. Online I can’t find out any history on it or a family named Fleming in the area. The main road that would have lead into the community north of there is to the south by about 3 miles. The farm community to the west of that location also had an established road going to it so this would have been a local use thing. Really not a good reason for it to have been built that I can think of. Will be interesting to see what I can find out.

Keep me posted. Early crossing point attempt for a bridge? Realize wasn’t a good location. Who knows.
