    Nice.

I do miss my Amigo. Kind of wish Isuzu still made passenger vehicles.

 no, that's not a thing.

A couple things it could be doing...

Limiting peak current so you stay in the sweet spot for discharge efficiency.. on a lithium-ion battery this wouldn't get you more than about 5% and it would really hinder your acceleration.

Tricking the BMS into allowing access to additional capacity- just about every mfg will use the BMS to limit how much battery capacity users can access. Small batteries will be on the order of 10-15% reserve capacity, so if you have a 100Ah battery, the BMS might keep you between 5% and 90% state of charge (but the interface will tell you its 0-100%). This way you have some safety buffer so you don't over discharge and ruin the battery but also as a battery ages it loses capacity. Usually for lithium ion end of life is around 50-60% of original. By limiting what you access up front, you don't notice the capacity loss for a while. It also helps to reduce heat generation and prolongs battery calendar life. In EVs I think these safety factors are much larger, like 25% or more. If this little box gives you more access to the battery, it would look like an instant boost in battery capacity but it would reduce overall life. At the end of the day, capacity throughput would be the same. (80 discharges at 100Ah or 100 discharges at 80Ah). If really bypasses / tricks the BMS it could be incredibly dangerous if not done correctly. Almost every lithium ion fire you have ever heard of, and certainly every recall (Boeing, Samsung) can be attributed to a BMS not doing what it was supposed to

My guess is that the testing was faked or done on a previously damaged battery and the guy is a great salesman or had dirt on someone.

I keep an eye out for yellow jackets, especially when cutting the grass. I have seen them occupy old mole tunnels, but this time they found a hollowed out tree root.

I've been to 5 yellow jacket calls in the past 2 days. People freak out when I tell them it's 275$ for yellow jackets. Fine you do it have fun. Tell me how it goes for you. The one I went to yesterday had to be 5k yellow jackets and they were pissed.

Found a couple hundred if not more that have been secretly holding up in an old snake or mole hole yesterday. Not when I was mowing right over the hole but later when my 6 year old was playing and they decided to catch him off guard. Luckily my wife was close and told him to run when they all decided it was time to make their presence known. I waited until dark last night and poured gasoline down the hole and blockd it with a piece of cement block. Needless to say a couple of their cousins were snooping around the block today. No survivors. My landlord and I found a couple more hives, one in front of his garage in a door for a car he'll be repairing for a customer soon and a huge one in the old box truck box/storage shed behind the garage. We're still trying to figure out where the other colony took up residence on the corner of his house. They are entering behind the corner the houses siding and he thinks they've made their way into the lath boards behind the walls.
