It’s been so humid and rainy in the northeast lately. This rear cam foggy view has been like this for 2 weeks now. Any suggestions to get rid of the fogged up lens ?

That's a horrible idea. What time?
RainX or wax may help. Does it wipe off the lense or stay like that all the time? Wondering if the seal is bad and moisture is getting in.

Maybe a hair dryer? I wouldn’t use anything too hot (like a heat gun) because I think it could damage it further.

Then again, more rain is forecast for the weekend so whatever you do today is only temporary.

I’m guessing permanently repairing and sealing the lens could be a PITA. There are UV cured glues that watch repair guys use to secure watch crystals, but this lens is so small I’d think it would be extremely difficult to fix.

If you have any time left on your warranty, I’d have the dealer replace the camera (or look up how much a replacement costs). I’m hopeful it is just a plug connector that you can easily replace.

Just for the goof, I looked up the replacement part and I think this is what you’ll need:
    Backup Camera | 2018-2022 Tacoma | Without Panoramic & Without Multi-Terrain monitor - Toyota (86790-04040)

The only negative is the dealer price I saw was $299.

    I would definitely make sure:
    1) the lens was clean and there was definitely moisture behind the lens causing the fogging and

    2) I couldn’t get it repaired under warranty or at least have Toyota cover some of the cost as a customer appreciation gesture.

$300 is a lot for that little camera.

Salvage yard OEM on Ebay right now for $100 bucks~
Not something I'd bother trying to "fix"

it's just humid. i would clean it first with alcohol, then maybe try some glass or ceramic coat treatment.

I live in Canada and believe me the weather is hot, humid, wet, cold etc etc. I never had a back up camera fog up on this Tacoma and my 2014 Venza. just saying.
