Colorado was a blast. Beautiful. Didn't encounter any aggressive wildlife and only had someone try to steal my beer once, but they only got as far as the latches before the lock stopped them from opening my cooler.
Slaughterhouse Gulch trail was awesome, but they need to fix the sign as we apparently went the backwards way and had to dodge a lot of people.... Put my LT to work out there, stuffed it side to side. The biting flies were thick as shit out there though and laughed at bug spray...
Got to see a lot of stuff and there's still tons more to do out there. Hiked up to Emerald lake our last day, amazing, worth the hike. Thanks for the suggestions and tips!
Got tossed out of Ft Carson after my GPS told me there's a Baskin Robins and didn't tell me it was on base! Ended up going to You Scream in Canon City and then driving Skyline and Phantom. Saw the Kathleen gold mine, which was pretty neat.
Definitely will go back and do Gunnison, Silverton etc. Tons to do!

I will say, you got me on the gas. I'd see the signs and go, oh that looks cheaper than elsewhere and it's actually for 85 octane and 87s nearly $4 :bananadead: Nowhere I've seen in MO carries 85 so I just stopped trying to find cheap gas since you couldn't trust the sign...

At altitude 85 octane is “equivalent” to 87 octane at lower elevations.

yep, you actually ripped yourself off by filling with 87 unless you have a tune to compensate for more octane and less oxygen.

I wonder how quick they would disappear from Denver/ CO if we went back to 1950's laws where they put all homeless into State mental Hospitals for evaluation (I think 2 weeks minimum).

The Fort Collins PD main building has a wall with memorabilia and information on the early days, one of the things they mentioned was how they used to bus the homeless to Denver and ask them to not come back. I think that was back in the 50's.
Sad situation if they are truly homeless due to circumstances.
Disgusting if they choose to be that way and get a free ride thru life.
    Hope it's a cold winter.

Quite the lack in humanity right here. Offer no help, no willingness to understand their situation, just punish to death. Cool.

Fun story, there have been two hit and run accidents at the intersection near me in the past 6 months. In both accidents, the at-fault drivers who ran the stop sign and caused multi-car accidents fled the scene and caused great out of pocket expenses to all those involved.

With the first accident, the worst off victims were a mom and two children. I can confidently surmise that she is living paycheck to paycheck (or close) and losing her only vehicle has likely led to her being late/missing work and probably losing her job. Also, she can’t take the kids to daycare/school quickly and needs to rake the bus, adding hours to her day also contributing to missing work/being late, losing said job.

Now she has lost income, at no fault of her own. She is late or misses a month of rent payment and gets booted. Now her and kid(s) are homeless.

And you wish them all to freeze to death? Because she happened to be hit by someone that ran a stop sign?

Everyone is “there due to circumstances” whether it is acceptable to you is the real issue.

If we really went back to post war, suburban sprawling 1950s American dream time, we would be looking out more for each other, rather than placing blame on individuals and making them suffer more.

EDIT: and getting out of that situation is hard because it is hard to get a job without an address. It’s hard to get a place to live without a job. You can’t just low a few lawns and make enough for rent like you could back in the 50s.

I think if you were to look at the facts, you will find the majority of Homeless are due to Mental Health issues and Drug Addition.

I will never be in favor of coddling them.

But we all will have front row seats to the "Denver Emergency" and see what happens.

I went to coors field yesterday and it looked like Portland so may people nodded over tripping on fety in broad daylight. Really unfortunate situation that's out of control. I didn't see any homeless families thankfully but they're probably hiding out scared to death and starving. Its a sad world we live in anymore.
