Going to run the garage AC and cool everything down first. Being sweaty and stuck up under a dash is no fun.

Deal with Spartanburg on a regular, know the higher ups within the service department, they are all pretty straight shooters.

I will say that Greenville is a better location tho, if the drive isn’t a big deal.

My daughter's boyfriend worked there (Toyota of Sp'burg) as a service tech for a several months this year when they moved from TX in Jan until they started this BS partner system where you and your "repair partner" had to split pay on repairing cars with the other person so that he was making net around $9 per hour, on top of having to commute from Greenville in that horrible traffic to boot.

He worked on my Tacoma a few times while there and did great work.

He quit a couple weeks back to work for a Goodyear shop in Greenville.

I inquired with both dealerships about a 24 Tacoma. I plan on engaging with Greenville tomorrow. Basically I’ll buy from whichever can get a truck in first. I just wanted to be sure I was potentially dealing with reputable institutions.

I bought my first Taco from Greer in 2012 and then traded that same one in Dec of 13 for my 14 that I have now. Both times I had to play hardball to get the numbers I wanted but eventually wore them down to get what I wanted, but that car market was a different world than what we see here today.

It's a little farther from you but I had good dealings with Ralph Hayes in Anderson.

I don’t mind the drive. I can try and reach out to them today as well.

I live in Anderson and have bought a lot of Toyotas over the years and several from Ralph Hayes too. Personally, I don't let the specific dealership or location (within reason) influence my decision too much. I normally check around for the one that checks the most boxes at all upstate Toyota dealerships (Easley too) and include those reasonably close in Georgia & N.C. too. Your local dealership should provide the same service no matter where you purchase. BTW: I've also bought several CPO Toyotas too and there are definite advantages with the lower price and extended warranty vs. new - the Toyota website has a good tool for finding all the CPO Toyotas in our area. Best of luck!

If you do start to disassemble the dash, get a box of either sandwich or ziploc baggies to store your parts and label the bags with either a sharpie or put a sticky note in the bag with the information where you pulled it from. Masking tape or painters tape on electrical connections with matching labels on the plugs so you know where they plug into. Take pictures of unique situations you get yourself into so that you can reference them later when you put everything back together. Disconnect the battery before start messing with anything, obviously. The last thing you want is an airbag to go off if you find a short to ground. Having a clean and clutter free place to store parts will also help with putting everything back together at the end.

I bought my Tacoma from Toyota of Greer exactly four years ago today. Overall I had about as good of an experience as you could hope for with a dealership. I will say at that time they had over 80 Tacomas on the lot! Totally unheard of now...you'd be lucky to find 8 new Tacomas on lots in the whole upstate. That said, I went to Greer due to the huge selection they had at the time. The Greenville dealer is a lot more convenient location for me if needed but it was worth it at the time.

I’m thinking I’d like to go to a factory rear bumper. Y’all think it’s worthwhile to sell this thing once I find an OEM one? In the event I can’t find anyone to swap that is.

Or just toss it? I know mods are subjective, so I’m unsure if anyone would want it.

Keep it! 9/10 times though you’ll be able to talk who’s ever buying it into a swap! Doesn’t look bad to me. If I had a factory rear Id definitely think about it!

I think that hybrid tube bumper looks pretty neat. Curious as to the reasoning why you want to go back to stock? Is your front bumper similar or is it stock?

Pure esthetics if I’m honest. Functionally? Makes much more sense to keep, I’m just not off roading or anything lol.
