Nearly two weeks out of reconstructive face surgery, I am much more interested in a light trail style full face than I used to be. I never really considered the likelihood of a hard face impact previously (honestly, I just don't crash much), but I can tell you that breaking your face is not fun! And I got off kind of easy as far as face breaks go.

Nice, I hadn't heard of this before. Looks like I might be eligible.

I don't see it talked about much, but when I first started biking the LBS here recommended Dumonde Tech and I have used it ever since. They call it a "liquid plastic" and it is a great all arounder for me. Does well in wet and dry and lasts quite a while plus I use very little of it. They recommend stripping the chain initially but I've never even done that. Worth trying IMO. https://www.dumondetech.com/portfolio/bicycle-chain-lube-bcl-original-formula/

Just do regular AXS then. I've had a few people on both say they prefer AXS to transmission due to shift speed. They say that transmission waits until the right timing to shift in order to get to that smooth under-power shift. With AXS, you push the button and it goes right away. I can see the appeal to both.
I mean, TBH, when I'm shifting I'm subconsciously timing my power delivery to the actual shift. I let off for maybe a split-second. I can see how transmission would be super beneficial to ebikes and newer riders. And I can see how a slower shift might be a pain if you're timing a hard climb around a corner, or a quick sprint to clear a gap.
AXS GX is also quite a bit cheaper now.

Haha. That's the idea. Axs GX. The question for me is more ..do I want to pay that premium. Even though it is cheaper than before. It's still, you know...up there. I'll decide later. For now, all my shifting is fixed and working.

I'll sell you my going on 5 year old XTR. Shifts perfect I've literally never touched it except 1 cable replacement. Wait nevermind you can't have it.

The whole point of hyperglide was shift whenever the fook you want and that's what i've been doing.

I see this thread has really geared up in another direction. Sorry, I get cranky and tend to shift in another direction on occasion.

New Bike Day! First Full Suspension Bike and I am super pumped! Coming from my '19 Roscoe 8 this thing is a huge upgrade. Popped its cherry here at Rocky Knob in Boone, NC and had a blast. Got caught in the rain, got the bike super muddy, hit some fun jumps and had the time of my life. Brought it home and gave it a nice bubble bath. Only thing to complain about is the tires. Missing the Specialized Butchers 2.6 on my Roscoe. Hate to drop the $$ on tires right away. Maybe I should try and put some miles on these Bontragers first. Any suggestions?

If you don't have a parking lot panini maker the spotless yeti with matching anodizing means nothing. :blahblah:

    Yeah.
Congrats! I ride a Fuel, love it. I mean rode, I still have it but I haven't been riding and now I'm fat.

I'm partial to the XR4, never tried the XR5. Looks like XR5 is a deep tread for wet, chunky terrain and has a tread that reminds me of the Maxxis DHR or something. I'd probably hate it.

Hey guys, I have a question. I just ordered a Specialized Stumpjumper EVO Pro. It's on sale for $6,150. I was thinking about getting insurance for it in case of theft or accident. Any of you guys have bike insurance? Is it worth it?

i dont have bike insurance but got an email from USAA the other day saying they offer it.

I had a few bikes stolen from my apartment years ago. my renters insurance covered it so i got paid out and was able to buy a new bike.

im not really sure what insurance would cover other than it being stolen
