    $50 new on eBay

    $15 Walmart antenna

Two screws to hold up the cb to the plastic (it’s light and won’t budge)

Splice into the map lights, dark wire in the truck is ground, lighter one is +

Run the antenna under the headliner edge and out to where it can go through a jamb or drilled hole and you’re done

Up here in the PNW it used to keep you from getting your ass run off the road by logging trucks!

We use it on trips with family in multiple cars, basically a party line for all of us on whatever channel we pick to let each other know if one needs to pull off for whatever

And for weather and traffic updates. Faster than a phone and instant.

Depending on where you live that's a valid question.

I just finished a road trip here in the states...there were multiple hundred plus mile stretches where no cell signal is the norm.

However CB is still monitored by emergency services and allows you to talk with other vehicles.

It's also very good for hunting trips and what not where I routinely end up in places with no cell service.
