    ^^^^This.

I got the recipe from @wilcam47. I ALWAYS have a big mason jar in the fridge. Lasts for a month, at least thats how long it takes me to get through a full mason jar. Yum yum, goes on everything just about:
    Pork
    Chick
    Fish
Rice - any and all rice

    So damn good.

    Thanks.
Hauled it all in and mixed it myself. Including one load of so called 3 mix that we bought that was completely unable to sustain life (well it was like 75% sand, real rip off!). Lots of well composted manure/sawdust. I swear I'm not filling another raised bed!!!

Agree with it being a lot of work. I made my soil about 15 years ago using the "Square Foot Gardening " method. My soil is not as nice as yours but I have found for me that adding chopped up leaves and sticks ( not too many ) in the fall seems to be helping a little. Since I grow garlic adding more leaves is not much more work. Your plants really seem to be liking the soil you have made there :) WTG

My next one I am using all the tobasco peppers I have turning red right now. I think I have a few more days until they are ready to pick. Probably 40 or so on that plant. It will be a hot one with them.

IMG_5260.jpg My poor goosberry bush! And my Josta berry and my Black Currant!! They were ravaged by tiny green worms in like 2 days!! I started spraying with BT, maybe it is helping. I will see. BUT I hardly see many worms now. I killed a few by hand.............not of my doing.....it gets interesting. I start watching these medium sized wasps. They don't seem interested in me at all, but are landing on and inspecting the bush leaves......keep watching and one finds a small worm and picks it up and flies off with it. For lunch!!

So more on the corn. Yield was 37 dozen ears. Worked out to 1 ear per foot of row and spacing of plants so I figure about as good as it gets. Just a few cut worms on tips of some ears and expected way more. Had sprayed with liquid sevin a few weeks back when I found japanese beetles eating the silks. Maybe that made a difference. Gave away ten dozen ears to multiple folks, cut 25 ears off the cob and put up 2 dozen whole. Made 46 quart bags of cut. Took Monday off, started my set up at 730AM and had everything done, cleaned and put up by 2PM. Two propane cookers in the driveway to blanch 2 dozen ears at a time, then ice water to cool in cooler #1, quick transfer to cooler #2 for another dip to further remove silk then tabled to cool. Was a one man show like Lucy on the conveyor belt for a while but I got it all blanched. Then used the kernal cutter and cordless drill to cut it all. About ten seconds an ear to chuck, 3 passes to cut and get all the goody then unchuck the cob. If you ain't got one and are cutting a lot of corn then you don't know what you are missing out on. It's the way to go if you are handling a lot of corn. Loaded the trailer with the shucks and cobs and pitch forked to cows in pasture across the road (well away from garden). Was all gone the next morning and saw them all moping around the spot the next afternoon looking for another handout. Anyway, redneck life here in the south. Yall keep at it. Good stuff in this thread.
