Tailgate Lock via Fob stopped working

My tailgate has stopped locking and unlocking with my key fob. The local Toyota dealership said it would be a 3-5 day turnaround to fix it so I want to attempt on my own. I looked inside the tailgate this morning and nothing seemed abnormal. Where should I check next? Any other tips?

 

Where is the lock, you can trigger the lock at the tailgate, (remove from connector) if that works, the wires are fed from the passenger footwell...unplug the connector from the harness and attempt to trigger the lock to confirm the wires are ok.

When you use your fob to lock/unlock does the solenoid do anything?

 

Do they offer a loaner? Still under warranty??
