Speaking of modern vs new I just scored my first Gibson. Got a ES-125 for probably less than half what they are going for with a nice hard case. Been wanting one for a long time, and couldn't pass it up. I'll post pics when I get it. Hopefully it's in as good of shape as the seller described it to me. Gonna be great for some finger style blues.

Also, selling a Guild Polara S-100 and also a Peavey 6505+ 112 amp if anyone is interest. I'm in Michigan.

The none vintage version is $26. It's identical. Why do these sellers think these parts are so valuable? I see a used P90 and harness for over a $1k hahaha!

Old parts are valuable for a restoration, look at the cost of a standard Les Paul, 58,59,60

Not to mention the fact that old parts are even harder to find that someone hasn't fooled with / and / or / ruined. If you want the look, who cares. If period correct is part of the goal, the thrill is the hunt.

Was at the county fair last night, Quiet Riot.Pretty good with rudy the only original member. Was fun listening to some really loud rock and roll while drinking beer.

I just ordered this… a 1986 Fender Jaguar, MIJ JG-66. It’s all original aside from an upgraded bridge. The seller is currently holding it as I am moving across the country.

I was going to by a late 60’s mustang from Rochester, NY’s House of Guitars before leaving but everything went to hell. I found this on reverb and managed to make a deal. It will be a nice housewarming gift for my new place in Alaska.

There’s also a pic of all my gear loaded up for the move.

Speaking of new old guitars. I also got something in the mail today. Needs some TLC, but it plays great right out of the box. The gold hardware is going.

If I could get my girl to do it, I'd move there. She's to city though.

Jammed with my sister for a bit today and she ended up giving me my old amp that came with the very first guitar i had (a cheap squire strat that her boyfriend has now)
    Fender frontman15g

this is obviously a very cheap amp thats been sitting for 15+ years
Its pretty distorted and has a buzz to it
The drive select just makes it worse.

is it even worth tinkering around with?

I also told her to start bugging him to upgrade so i can have my old squire back for a cottage beater lol

Dood, focus less on that amp ... focus more on the squire reunification. That amp can be picked up in trade for a decent set of guitar strings....

I introduce hyperbole cuz, well it's prolly warranted...what year and where was the Squire built?

this move is all on my fiancé. We are going to be right in Anchorage so it’s a major city, but all the fun is just outside city limits.

You have a point. But he’s living on his own fresh out of university. I know its in good hands so might be more beneficial to let him keep it for now so i have someone else to jam with lol

So Stewmac messed up my order. They sent me bridge when I ordered a set of tuners. They already got my tuners on the way and told me to keep the bridge.

Pretty impressive customer service I must say.
