I've been doing a lot of stealth camping, sleeping on a platform under my camper shell, and am looking to upgrade to an actual camper that will still fly somewhat under the radar (i.e., not an RTT). I know options are somewhat limited because the sticker on the Taco says don't haul more than 1,000 pounds (BTW is there any wiggle room there?). So I know I'm not getting anything super fancy, which I don't want anyway - just a solid three-season rig that lets me sleep comfortably, cook inside if possible, and work on my laptop when I have to.

So, what's out there and where should I look?

And if there are any good resources you like on how to look for, operate, and maintain a camper, please send those along too.

    all I know is
    1. Check out which one KFlo used to run
    2. Look up what AEV tends to use
    3. Besides that, not exactly a camper but similar, is pop up integrated tent setups like GFC, Flippac (harder to find), AluCab, etc
    4. Making a slide out extension like the guy on YouTube with DIY who lives in one
    Etc

I feel like to comfortably live in a 4x4 something bigger would be nicer
Like Roaming Reckless’ Land Rover Defender (110?) torquey diesel troop carrier

love that camper. Ordering mine soon. Selling the Tacoma because I picked up a clean first gen tundra for the camper. What chair is that in front of the truck? Looks simple and lightweight

This was my old setup. Loved it but was too small for our growing family. The small truck campers are hard to find/expensive when you do find one.
